Bro! Your skating is on fire! So glad to see another video! Your destroying everything in those 80s! I need to try a pair! So glad to see more people enjoying the bigger wheels with aggressive skating. I hope the industry keeps pushing in this direction!
Thank you, sir! I spent a lot more time skating and less time filming and definitely noticed a big jump in my skating. Feels good, but I appreciate you recognizing it 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 The speed with these bigger wheels is unbelievable. And with these Aeons, specifically, there’s soooo much room for grinds haha. So, so sick. We still gotta meet up for a sesh SOMEHOW at some point haha
I’m almost 40 years old. I skated in middle school then got into skateboarding in highschool up until about five years ago. Now the thought of getting a pair of skates is in my head and I’m stoked to get some but man have they changed Since the old school K2 days. Thank you for the content sir.
Skate technology has changed a LOT since our days back in the 90’s haha. I’m 38, so we likely grew up skating the same Lightnings and Fatty Pros and whatnot. Get yourself a pair and get out there, it’s a lot more fun in our older age than I remember it being back in the day 🙌🏼
Dude! I’m so happy that you’ve found the right skate for you! Skating is weird... during my early years(99-03) I had whatever the skating version of writer’s block is. When I got a pair of Remz 03ONEs in August 2003 it unlocked so much stuff for me. It was like taking the red pill in “The Matrix”. I found the skates uncomfortable but I could do anything in them. What’s crazy is I switched to other skates afterwards and now that I properly learned things like top sides on the ledges, flips and the 900 I could do them on any other skate. I just had to find the right skate to really unlock everything. I’m glad you are back on RU-vid. Bryce and I should be coming to town soon so hopefully we can hit up the park and FAMU :)
Feels good to be back at it, my man! Appreciate it, I'm LOVING the 80's, but definitely wanna check out some more of the Aeon options... that 80mm speed on an aggressive setup is like a drug haha Hope you're doing well my man!
Glad to see you back! You are slaying in those Aeon 80s. I’m also rocking Recall liners in my Aeon 60s and love them. I love those ratchet straps too, I have them on some Zoom 80s 🤘
just got into skating while my motorcycle is in the shop. I ride supermoto cuz of its versatility, these seem to capture that same versatility between urban riding and stunting that supermotos do. I think this is the skate for me fr
Thanks! Just what I was looking for! I love one thing about skating - it seems it's a hobby for mature men. We all kept this love since 90's and now it's a kind of revival going for some years, and almost everyone who's visible is older than 30. That keeps my spirits up, because I abandoned skating even though I used to skate for many years for 8-9 hours every day, and ever since I stopped making huge drops and sketchy rails I felt like I'm missing out on something. With a pair of these I'll be able to enjoy powerskating through the city and not miss out the rails and whatnot. Thanks again, I was looking for someone specifically into grinding, because most reviews are 90-99% on freeskating and ramp jumps. Anyway, I don't think I'm taking big drops anymore, I wonder how did my lower back survive my teen years. Now to find a way of obtaining a pair in Rossia.
I wondered where you'd gone. Good to see you back, I can tell you've been skating! Star grind on that rib breaking (I think it was that one?) rail in Aeon 80s, that's awesome! 🙌
Also in Tallahassee, just got back into inline. I'm rocking my old pair of Salomon st 80s. My wife just got rec skates for fitness. Thinking about replacing mine with these so I can do fitness with her and park. Seems like they are good for the area!
Ah man, how have we not bumped into each other?? The Aeon 80 is a really awesome skate for the area and for the parks, too. I honestly can’t recommend them enough
I’m not an aggressive skater but I do love these skates for bombing around the streets on. I was also surprised at how lightweight these were given their bulk, and I can whip up a fair amount of speed when I open them up. Very pleasantly surprised by these indeed. The frame width does, however, need to be considered when taking tight corners or hitting high-speed power stops.
I just picked up some RB Pro X's after suffering the last year with some twisters. I'm looking for COMFORT in my skating and may pick these up! Thanks for your review!
Wish I knew about the shock absorber/ankle thing before I went on my first NYC skate night with my 72s 😅, I later put the extra heel pads in the get more height to take away that pressure, but oof that ankle pain nearly took me out
I ordered some Aeon 80s the other day so I could join my gf in her new roller skating hobby - I used to ride BMX as a preteen and dabbled in Heely's with grind plates, so I wanted to have the ability to freestyle around with her, but maybe work my way back into doing some tricks and grinds when I get my conditioning up (two years work from home has robbed me of my physicality somewhat, lol). I got a full set of knee/elbow pads and wrist guards, helmet too of course. Is there anything else gear-wise I should pick up if I'm going to do anything intensive like some tricking and such? Won't be for a bit, I need to get my bearings overall, but I'd like to be prepared.
i bought these to get back into skating. i havent even really done much aggressive just rolling around hitting some spins n stalls. It felt great getting back out but man my feet are just killing after 10-20 minutes. I went and measured my foot at a shoe store with my sock on... with the tool that shoe stores usually have and i measured 13 flat. So yeah thats pretty much my issue right there. I've been waiting/stalking for a while and myfit 2nd skins just restocked at most shops so i pulled the trigger on some 12-13 2nd skins.. Im hoping they will solve the problem! thanks for the review
@@peonybabi6555 i just searched aeons on google and a bunch of different pairs came up. Red ones, green ones. I wanted black but couldn't find any my size left
Hey, I just recently got the USD Aeon 80 skates and have been trying to learn some tricks at the skatepark, including grinds. Do you have any tips about learning how to grinding with these skates, since I hear from everywhere that the H-block is so small compared to other skates?
I have a pair of these and I'm having a hard time with my ankles just getting completely sore to the point I need to take a few days off, because they hurt so much. I have heat molded the liners and I'm still breaking them in, but I have skated them enough to where they shouldn't be hurting this much. I'm also just getting back into skating again, but picking it up pretty quickly. I remember you saying you had some ankle pain as well.....Any advice as to eliminating the ankle pain?....or anything that worked for you?
I had the SAME issue before I got a taller shock absorber. I literally couldn’t skate or put shoes on for 2 weeks after my first session in these, but after putting the taller shock absorber, it changed EVERYTHING. I’m using the shocks from a pair of Razors SL’s that are about twice the height of the Aeon ones. I’d definitely recommend that more than anything
@@MattBurke820 I actually found and purchased a pair of the Razor SL shock absorbers. Would you recommend re-heat molding my liners since my foot will be in a different position with the new shock absorbers?
I did not like the skinny boy liners in my Aeon 80’s. They slid around a lot in the boot. My fat boys have gripped in there much better and a much nicer feel.
