The original Xjshadows when they first came out on the market it was love at first sight for me and now after all these years to see the evolution of the skates it's so awesome , i wish all skates where like these when you don't need to change to some footwear because you already wearing the footwear.
These are going to be my first pair of Shadows, and they are arriving today. I can't wait to try them out. Thanks for this informative video, and congratulations to Eugen.
Really appreciate the extra long deep dive. Ive always had a vision of shadows inspired by modern snowboard bindings and we are getting closer! Really excited for these!
Back skating after a break and starting a family. Pretty excited to try out these skates. Really appreciate the product breakdown. Also enjoy your edits long distance high five. Thanks
Thanks for this vid! just got my new EE shadows last night!! might have to order a back up pair, just in case I have to wait multiple years for new shadow again lol! If you ever get to take a U.S. tour come through Colorado! I know almost all the local bladers here in Grand Junction pre-ordered these. And I got your back behind the lens!
I really missed Xsjados/Shadows. I finally got to check these out and think the fit and support are finally the way I wanted them to be. I hope they get to stick around.
these are a huge upgrade from the liners in the trimax model. I didn't get to try the 2019 shadows with the buckle system that were discontinued, but can't wait to grab these ones! I think it will solve the problem of my trimax liners constantly coming loose.
pro tip: if anyone still rocking the old walkable liners throw some speed snowboard boot laces in them and they perform really well! got the idea from the new liners.
I don't understand why they put the buckles on the soul side of the skate instead of the negative side. This makes the skate much less durable especialy because it has no protection. The buckle always has contact with the ledge/rail when missing a grind.
Really hope USD produces more replacement Shadow parts this time around..I've been trying to find extra soulplates for my Shadow 57's for like 2 years now.. also for the love of God please please make the new shock absorbers available to purchase separate from buying a whole new skate.. Was really disappointed the last run of shadows didn't come with shock absorbers.
I *loved* my shadows until they broke. I'm excited that I think i heard you say this eclipse liner is wider. my biggest complaint of the old one was that they were just barely too thin
It would be good to have the option to purchase the skate boot-only. I don't like the Fluid V frame or any other flat frame. Or, if it has to come with a frame, make it a freestyle X frame like the older Xsjados used to have. Thank you! :)
does the shock pad help position tour foot over the soul plate?Im skating the trimax model with no shockpad and the plastic from the soulplate is digging into the side of my foot on soul tricks.
I bought three pairs of Xsjado skates way back in the day when I learned they were being discontinued. I love how you can wear your own shoes as the liners in Xsjado skates. Has that feature been lost with the introduction of USD's Shadows?
Why did USD go away from the “lock ridge” that used to be on the back of the heals of the shoe that prevented the heal lift? It would hit the top of the opening of the cuff heal opening…..
Nice updates! My only question is why they don’t have soles like the original model Xsjados where the shoe/liner has a notch that holds the heels down? Then you wouldn’t need all that Velcro in the back.
The molds for these soles got lost over the years, actually we already working on recreating and updating it since the original ones had tiny gaps between the soul and the cuff anyway, especially on the 2.0 cuffs. That’s why we used the Velcro for this model. Also, honestly I prefer the Velcro as it not only avoid heel lift but also holds the liner tight to the cuff which was never the case with the old system.
if the V1 cuff has the original xsjado holes for the padding, will this new liner be available so we can use it in older xsjado? also in case you trash your liners, you need a replacement one, so availability of the new liner would be a great option
I wear a size 9 in US. What size skate should i get? I want to pre order so bad but without skate shops to try skates on im worried. Havnt skated in 15 years so i would imagine alots changed in that time
Was hoping for more information on the shell sizes and possible configurations, like running smallest shell with proper shoe size combo like we did back in the 1.0 days. If anyone can confirm any of this information that would be great, I really dont wanna buy 3 pairs of skates to make 1 pair :D
40 comes in XS but you can fit 41 in xs. Do you mean these infos? That’s why I said that in the beginning, was more of a hidden message that you can fit one size up in the Shells.
@@negue9 I bought 3 pairs, of these skates. Sadly I'm gonna be running a size 10 skate using the bottom of the shell size instead of the end of the previous shell size. The smallest the shell can be the better control I have had sense the 1.0 days. Maybe the next skate can bring back the foot wrap style would lower the production cost.
That Velcro should have bolts not rivets. It won’t last. Telling you how to remove it carefully so it won’t rip? Really? That’s lame af. They even filmed that bit separately because he got to mention it. Must have ripped 100s of them. This boot is not ready to be released. You shouldn’t be selling this to people.
I skated the final cuff for 6 month street without problems ;) We edited that bit into this video so people take more care, not because it will rip off easily but to guarantee that the Velcro itself will last longer and stay sticky. I don’t know if you ever had Velcro parts for sports but if you don’t remove them properly but instead rip them of sideways instead or straight up, they will get lose quicker. That’s it. There been so many products with great details over the years like liners with Neopren parts on top which just got ripped off by kids because they didn’t knew the correct way to put them on and off. For sure your can claim that these been bad too but for people who knew how to treat them, they been great.
You literally said rip in the video. I’m still gonna buy them. Do you know if there’ll be 2.0 cuffs available as spare parts? On grindhouse it says “Facts: totally reworked cuffs … the one piece and the dual piece”
@@LeekowalskiWalker sorry for my English lol, with rip I meant pulling out the liner violently not ripping out the Velcro. Thanks for the support :) Yeah, never fully trust Shop descriptions hahaha right now only the 1.0 cuff is restocked but the 2.0 cuff is also planned for something else :)
