Love the four pillars idea. I would consider with the idea of creating consumers in the provisions of school aged people, consider putting a "ban" on processed foods that give a low nutritional value -- this would further meet and teach your nutrition security like you suggested. Processed foods should only be a sometimes or no times food and not something that is served on a daily or even weekly basis as part of a "program". We want our kids to fall in love with vegetables, fruits and nutrition whole grains (not processed) and whole meats (not processed) and healthy real natural fats. This is how we grow wise consumers. Putting highly palatable "doritos" or breakfast cereals are an easy way to serve food, but not a way to teach kids how to eat healthy. Put a cookie on a plate or a salad and the kids will gravitate to a cookie every time. Give them the options of salad and whole food fixings with a strong protein and you are teaching them and their palates to enjoy real food. Also consider focusing on the most nutrient dense food we have -- meats. Right now, our slaughter houses are the bottleneck of healthy foods getting to the consumers, the schools, the institutions. Prices would go down by allowing local slaughtering for small batch processing. Right now, the subsidies, rules and regulations favor the slaughter houses, the commercial processing plants and not the farmers. In order to have better food security, we need to focus on this. Thank you!

People, Think! We are in the beginning of a famine. Now is not the time to provide less food regardless of the purpose. If things stay on this course; we'll be thankful for a rotten tomato to divide between us.

Foolishness in the name of resources. Waste in the name of resourcefulness.
