Very nicely explained. I tend to use a lot of extended fingerings, probably unnecessarily, but these compact fingerings are super helpful. Very useful for navigation, but also useful tonally. Your tone is amazingly consistent throughout the various positions you use. I would love to see how you achieve such consistency, if you ever feel like sharing this. This is a fantastic exposition on alternate fingerings. I've struggled with these ideas for many years, but this approach seems really, really solid. Thanks for putting this out!!!
