Or you can make new Calculated Value "Total Cost" with formula: [Cost] and in formating turn on Calculating totals. Result is the same, just faster and easier.

Nice one. I had added an integer parameter to my families with value 1 to achieve the same goal, but this is even easier. THANK YOU!!!

Hi! This is not exactly regarding formulas, but I think you can help me!!!! I wanted to organize my schedules and I created several schedule types (system family: type) and they were useless, I discovered after that I must create schedule view templates instead. BUT now I have like 10 different schedule types which I can’t purge. I haven’t find how to purge them. Any suggestions? I did it on my template 😢 Thanks you!!!!

How can I sort data by this new count and apply a filter for values greater than a specific number? My issue is that the filter seems to consider counts equal to 1 instead of the total count. Can you provide guidance on how to handle this in more detail

I tried this trick and can't seem to get it to work. It seems to work with a single calculation, i.e., Count New * X, but I can't do multiple functions in a single formula. I've tried a formula: 1 / ((1 / Transformer Impedance) * My Count), but it just won't do more than one function?

Thank you. I tried this for areas but it said inconsistent units when I made the formula for Area/Count New. I've got 10 rooms with the same name but slightly different areas so I'm trying to show an average individual area. As in 10 offices at 110 SD

Not sure your exact formula but if you are multiplying a SF by a foot … the result is foot cubed … so you have to divide to get it to be SF for example… again, not exactly sure your formula.

Now is there a way to add the count "New count" to a Multi category tag? I would like to see the quantity of each item on the tag itself
@TheRevitKid
@TheRevitKid 2 года назад
Hmm.... if you are tagging one item won't it always show 1??
@iraqiguns
@iraqiguns 2 года назад
@@TheRevitKid No, for example I would like to tag (Chair A) which I have 5 instances of. I would like the tag to display 5 on it. and then if I add another instance of that chair then the tag would display 6 instead.

I realized that you would get the same result by simply enabling calculate totals in the cost column. The reason the system value "Count" is not used in formulas is that is always = 1. 1 times anything is itself, therefore unnecessary. As an itemized line item 1 times the cost is the cost. The sum is achieved by enabling calculate totals on the Formatting tab of the Schedule Properties. Which is frustrating as what I wanted to do is calculate the area taken by furniture in a room and subtract it from the room area. Unfortunately the "calculated totals" sums can't actually be used in formulas only the value of the formula itself in the itemized list can be used. Oddly enough the system "Count" parameter automatically calculates totals without actually enabling it on the Formatting tab of the Schedule Properties.

hide "count new" column and you're good to go! ; )
@chinhnguyenphuc5770
@chinhnguyenphuc5770 2 месяца назад
The "Count New" step is unneccesary. Simply by changing the format to "Calculate totals" works. It's a built in function that will multiply by "Count". In this example make a new calculated parameter field "Total Cost". Set that formula to Cost. Set formatting to "Calculate totals".

Anyone else getting "improper use of boolean expressions" when trying this?
@kenwoods1865
@kenwoods1865 2 года назад
isn't it ridiculous that we have to create this calculated value in the first place?
