Well worth the effort! It is starting to look like a real tree. The Mic sounds good on this end! Can't wait to see it completely finished. This is amazing.
Incredible! You absolutely achieved tree bark. I love all of the knots and "hidden" crevices. The microphone worked great. It didn't sound like you were in a tunnel at all however, I did miss the cicada's music. It always add some charm😂

Thank you!! Though it was tedious doing all those cuts and scrapes I was so happy I did once I started to paint! And the pool noodles themselves had some great natural texture too which really started to come out when I applied the paint!
Wow, that ended up looking really amazing! How long did it take you start to finish? Also could the base coat have been spray paint or would it have dissolved the noodles? Can’t wait to see the next steps!
Yes, unfortunately I think spray paint would eat through the foam as it will do that to other foam sheets. That definitely would have been so much faster. I thought that black coat was going to take days and days. It went surprisingly fast. I painted the whole tree over the course of three days and I probably spent about 4 hours a day.
