Played this subclass in a Curse of Strahd campaign & I loved it a ton. Revisiting it for a new character who grew up in the crime ridden Lower City of Baldur’s Gate who was a nurse at a hospital that feels uneasy about death. He’s a Half Elf that delves into some Day of The Dead culture by sketching or noting stories of memories that patients might have in their final moments in case they die to share with their families. This deed caught the attention of the Raven Queen who saved him following an attack from necromancers who broke into the morgue. He swore to be an agent of her and keep the memories of the dead alive but prevent anyone from violating the natural cycle. At the same time he’s uneasy about dying and fears what happens next in the afterlife, will he be alone? Forgotten? Sent to Hell? It’s a neat character arc I have in mind for em
Currently level 5 monk - way of the open hand/level 3 phantom rogue. The multiclass is awesome so far. +11 acrobatics, +11 sneak, 5 initiative, not to mention decent ac without even having to wear armor and damage output thanks to wails of the grave
