Wow, now I realize why we had more money on our cards during our trip than what I expected! We would usually spend the day at the Mall and then go somewhere in the city for dinner. We'd usually have to take the Metro from the city back to the hotel. So, I was checking it every day to make sure we had enough money to make it back home the next night. We always had more than I expected. I calculated that we were being charged as transfers. So I was right
That’s good deal, I noticed back in the summer 2022 that the schedule isn’t to consistent. Also, some of the bus stops are very hard to find so you know where to wait, Especially down by the White House.
i am planning on moving to the DMV area for university and i am going to use the metro thanks so much for your videos it’s going to make it much easier
We had the 3-day unlimited SmarTrip cards. We got on the Circulator and the cards weren't working. The driver let us on anyway. It wasn't working for people paying cash either. We got on again and it didn't work, but they still let us on. I think the unlimited cards were only for the Metro.
I also had the 3 day unlimited card and they didn’t work. The driver said non of scanners work on the buses to just show the card and take a seat. So that’s what we where doing and nobody said anything. I only learned about the circulator the last day I was there, boy do I wish I knew about it when I got there.
@Trip Hacks DC Thank you for your quick response :) sounds like my youngest will be covered. We'll just have to get the 7 year old his own card. He'll like that anyway! Your videos have been a huge help planning our trip. Thanks again!
