Oh no, I've had duvets since infancy and am 50 and this is astounding to me! Have always said the worst thing about being single is trying to get the friggin duvet into the cover by myself! Lol. NOW, I am living my bliss!
I have struggled for years with putting my duvet covers on my duvets. I watched this video and tried your steps…. I did it all alone in less than 10 minutes. It worked perfectly!!!!
Thank you. This video helped me tremendously. Almost teary eyed and exhausted until I watched this. First time using a duvet cover for over 2 decades. Got used to comforters.
Yep, it never ceases to amaze me. Sometimes I forget the order because I go so long between washings (it's not my main blanket), and then I watch this video again, only to be reminded how easy it is. This is coming from a 41 yr old single male who never thought it would be possible to have a duvet because of the hassle I saw others go through! It's so easy, anyone can do it by themselves with a little practice.
For the past couple of years I’ve used this tutorial. It’s so great, whenever I hear someone complain about putting on their duvet I send them this video
Yeah, now their comforter shifts all around. Who likes sleeping under a duvet with no comforter?!? I still turn it inside out on the bed, I just slide it to the middle (tie), slide it to the bottom (tie)(button)
Charles Robinson yea mine is all messed up now and smells like my dog. But I ain’t going through washing it and trying to get that duvet inside the cover again. It takes hours to do that. A woman can do it In 5 minutes
So, I finally tried this... alone with a King sized bed... WOW! Lots of steps, side-to-side, but so much easier than pushing into the corners. Finally more comforter at the top of the bed then the bottom! Woot woot!
Us Europeans have been using duvet covers for ages. There’s a much easier way to do it than shown here. There’s a video by Christopher Barr that shows it. Please look it up, you won’t regret it. Takes literally a minute when you do it his way.
A coupla things would've made this video more helpful: a) if the doona (duvet) cover wasn't virtually the same color as the doona. b) if the dude had actually straightened the doona out completely before starting to roll it. Thirdly, if he had've mentioned that you start at the end which doesn't have the buttons, when you commence rolling.
They definitely didn’t explain it very well. My duvet cover has strings that tie to each corner of the duvet cover. Once you tie it; it won’t move around once you roll it.
This will work best if your cover has an opening that stretches the full width of the duvet. If it's several cms/inches shorter then you'll find it more difficult.
@@Mu5096rdgh I know exactly what is meant by “Ikea”. I got a king comforter and king duvet at IKEA. There is literally a 48” opening at the top of the duvet….that you’re somehow supposed to get a 106” wide x 92” long comforter into. It’s not impossible, you have to be creative, but it can be done. I fold my duvet into 3 and slide it in, then have to grab the corners ….you know😢. Unfortunately the method in this video won’t work.
I did it! Thank you so much, I've avoided duvets for years because of how hard it is to put a duvet cover on without help. I broke down and bought one today and decided to find a tutorial to help me. Took less than 3 minutes from start to shaking it out after unrolling!!
Had to watch this at least 10 times over and over again, but it does work! Keep on trying, you’ll get eventually. And once you get it, you’ll never forget and you’ll save so much time. Good luck!
Great idea but I think I’m gonna use those chip bag clamps next time. This is too much on my arthritic shoulders and to think my duvet is light as a feather! Sure didn’t feel like it when I tried this method! But it’s still a great idea!
I love how all of these videos demonstrate on a twin size bed, with a thin, flat duvet. Try being 5’1”, 115 pounds, and doing it by yourself with a king size, thick duvet. Doesn’t work.
this helped so much, ive been struggling for the past 2 hours, it gave me a perfect and balanced spread of my duvet and i really appreicate you, i hope you dont die anytime soon.
The critical point is missed entirely. The start of the roll must be the closed end of the cover, and the end to which you are rolling must be the open end. If you don't get this starting point right, this technique does not work.
Thank you! This is genius! I would try to crawl in and stuff it in it would take 40 minutes and it never quite worked! After watching this video I did it in under 3 minutes!
This job has driven me crazy for years. Just couldn't do it without family gymnastics. THIS WAS WONDERFUL. We did it first time in about five minutes, and it worked beautifully. Thanks so much.
This even worked with a crappy duvet and quilt from IKEA… It was a little challenging, because the opening at the bottom of the duvet is not the whole width of the cover itself so it’s a bit challenging to stick it through and pull it out, but it can be done
Just bought my first duvet cover as I was always too scared to try one, did it myself, it didn't come out perfect but it was darn near close! Thank you!!!
This is the most amazing video I’ve ever come across. Tried it on a queen bed for the first time alone, and it worked like MAGIC. You’re doing God’s work.
A G I have a small opening in my duvet all I did was fold the ends of the quilt in and reopen when u managed to get it in the quilt cover spread back out and violá
Sure it does... make sure you match the end of the duvet with the end of the comforter. Once you roll it from the top to the bottom w/ buttons.. Now, turn the roll inside and it looks like a hot dog bun and you button it up.. Now pull from the back side a little at a time and magically the darn thing unrolls with the duvet perfectly in place. At first I wasn't sure how to "unroll it" but if you pull it gently it will be obvious how to get it unrolled and in place. I'm really small and trying to do a king Down comforter into a Duvet was like a wrestling match for me. This took less than five minutes and it's perfect!!
This worked perfectly. It took my husband and I about 2 mins from start to finish. The duvet is evenly distributed within the duvet cover, saved us a fight for sure
The old way is much better and fast, I just put the duvet inside the duvet cover get the two corners hold and flick and that's it takes me 26 seconds and this way with the roll way takes nearly 2 minutes...
Super wonder technique. Rachel you’re SO LOUD, 🤯every time I want to watch one of your programs I have to practically mute the other guests. Check your Mic settings, girl 😳😨
This video saved my day!! Thanks for sharing!! I used it when I first got my duvet and cover. Today I had to remove the cover and forgot how to do it, so I grabbed my phone looking for this video. I had the roll part, but I forgot the cover had to be inside out. 🤪😂 I got it now ❤
As someone who has just put their first ever duvet cover on...img thank you for this!! Took me 5 min and most of that was pausing the video for each step.
I just started working housekeeping at the Venetian and playing with the duvet has been kicking my ass. This is definitely a cool trick and I will definitely look into trying it.
Glad i came across this video. This is my first time using a duvet at home. I worked at a hotel awhile ago and couldn't remember how to put it on. This was more simple than what i was taught at the hotel.
