Ohio river skip jack fishing is just as fun as any other species and easy to catch especially in the spring when they make there run up to the dams, today i show you how to catch them and preserve them
I was there this morning. First time in about 30 years. I was only there one other time with my dad. We were trying to snag paddlefish back then. Today I caught two skipjack. That is the first time I have ever caught them. Thank you for posting videos about the river. You helped me to prepare for what it's like to fish the dam. Keep up the great work!
you know you pro when you get one on each hook every cast.. i cant do it yet but my friend can crazy style 5 at a time.. well i can do it on sabiki when the small ones are around but on the jigs i get like 3s and sometimes 4s but never 5s.
Ive been smoking skips on a 3 inch white fluke with a pink lead head. And i spiked the tail chartreuse. Throw out and twitch it then stop, then twitch and stop. I caught 93 in about an 2 hours. I threw one back that wouldve went 3 and a half pounds, no doubt!!!
Can you make a video of how you set up the 3 lures on one line? I have started taking my nephew fishing and i have no idea what I'm doing and how to do that. I'm about 20 minutes from the falls and really want to take him out
It would be a while before I could get a video out but if you search on RU-vid for a double jig rig you can find some good videos, I personally tie a dropper loop for the 2 jigs on top and a non slip loop knot for the bottom jig, or you could just tie 3 clinch knots for each jig and that’s going to hold
Are they still up by the damn thinking about going this weekend. It’s a long drive for me so I would appreciate it if I can get some information before I take the trip. Thanks so much I love the videos.
The water is not looking so good its going to be up, i have caught them in the creeks around the area when it gets up but not many, feel free to ask questions on the markland fb group and we’ll keep an eye on the dam I would like to get back down there as well
