Do you have any cymbal stands that, no matter how much you tighten it, has some spin or rotation? This may be due to a broken roll pin. I find this to happen often with Gibraltar and Sound Percussion stands. Unlike most things which can break with your stand, this is repairable at home. In fact, you can actually make it stronger than when you got it. Let's look at the steps on how to repair this at home. Note that while metric probably should be used here, you can get away with the imperial sizes.

Not sure how helpful this is, but first you need to know from where (which part of) the stand the rattling comes from. i.e. if you hold onto a certain part of the stand while playing, does the rattling stop?
