Just out of curiosity, why do collisions with holes need to be made up of 4 collision boxes like you showed? Also, what other shapes does UE5 allow for collision shapes, is it just the box, sphere and capsule like seen in a static mesh's drop-down menu when editing it in it's own viewport?

Collision meshes have to be convex shapes. It's just something that UE5 requires. You'd have to ask their engineers why that is the case. A shape with a hole is considered concave. If you're making custom collisions you can have any shape - as long as it's convex. Search for the static mesh fbx pipeline in the UE5 documentation for more info.
