This is so amazing, not only for non-Windows users, but also a bunch of people in my company that would need to go through a whole process to get Power BI Desktop installed, and now can do it from the workspace!!

I’m really happy with this feature! I’m a Power BI developer for more than 8 years and since always my main complaint with Power BI is that my work computer is a MacBook. For the last 8 years: I’ve already paid Parallels to use Power BI Desktop, I’ve already created windows VMs on Azure for using Power BI Desktop and also today I do own a secondary laptop (Windows) basically for editing PBI (and for running DAX Studio)! Now finally I’ll be able to leverage more the web version of the PBI Editor, and I can stay more time in my Mac!!! Amazing feature! ❤

No version control, auto savings, group calcs, ability to download after changes, sounds dangerous for a real production environment.

Love all the shade being thrown at Adam, when we can see him in the reflection on the right as he's doing his best Matrix window washer impersonation.

HA! it's all in love. It was definitely funny (this is Adam typing). I realized while we were recording that I was in the reflection.

Data model changes save automatically. There is no option of undo which is not expected

I love how Patrick says, "Adam wanted to do this, but I kind a kicked him out of the room." Can anyone else see Adam's reflection in the window off to the right of Emily?!

If you are using DirectQuery, does Fabric edit the Tabular Model when you add a measure? If so, how do you handle good source control?

This is great, but how do you keep this file in sync with your PBI desktop file?

Same question, was hoping this was or will be addressed soon.

From what I read and understood in the documentation, it is not possible, that is to say that once you modify in the Service and modify in the Desktop it will be modified when you update it from the desktop and the changes made in the Service will be lost. Note: When uploading a .PBIX file to the Service the data model will not include any existing layout changes, including custom layouts created in Desktop. Similarly, when downloading the .PBIX file, any layout changes made in the Service, including custom layouts, will not appear in Power BI Desktop.

Was coming to ask this exact question! Seems as though all changes stay in the service. Although this is a great step forward, it’s also a bit of a pain with version control.

What about changing and connecting data sources via a browser? Can you teach me?

Q: How would you go about editing a xlma model? I have removed the use of AAS by deploying a model from Tabular Editor but I am now not sure how to edit my model

Thanks for this information, But I have one problem that whenever I'm adding new column in excel and upon refreshing semantic model then new column is not showing in Power BI dataset within Microsoft Fabric unless re-publish the complete dataset. Could you please help on this for any solution ? Thanks in advance.

I have a calendar table, and I need to add a second calendar table with the dates from the previous year. Goal: creating year over year charts. I see that I can add a table, but I get errors when I try to do this. Can I duplicate the original table and make the dates the year before? or am I on the wrong track entirely. I love this new feature! and want to be able to use it.
