This is one of your best videos ever, I love that you explained layouts so we don’t just learn a how to copy something you do but you taught me a skill to use to create something balanced and beautiful. The signatures themselves are the hardest part for me and it was nice to see how you thought them out. Thank you. Hope you are feeling happier, you made me happy today :)
In quilting we have a saying, "If you don't like a fabric, cut it up into small pieces. You'll like it better." I think the same applies here. This journal is quite gorgeous.
It really is a struggle for you to do “ugly”! My goodness, Eva, your work is always gorgeous. ❤ your style is undeniably your own - even when you weave in undesirable tones, patterns, textures! Always inspired by your videos
I didn’t like the colored papers at all when you first showed them; however, the way you finished them was pure genius. Loved the finished project. Thanks for your great idea.
It was a very smart idea to cut the papers smaller and just use bits of them! They were much more attractive in small amounts especially when combined with the vintage papers! Great video!
Unbelievable! Your ugly papers that are uncomfortable for you, has turned into a gorgeous journal, such talent. Again as I have said before Thank You for sharing all of your talent with everyone ❤
Thank you for reminding us that it is possible to use almost anything -- that nothing is beyond hope -- that it's just the approach that you take to it that makes the difference. Bravo Eva!!
I've never seen one of your videos before and I must say I am very impressed. I have the same feeling I think about those papers, they would make adorable handkerchiefs for dolls but a bit much for a whole journal. Well I guess that the sign of a real artist, one who can make something wonderful no matter what materials she is presented with.
Hi Eva, what a great tutorial. I’m not sure how we all wind up with some ugly paper, but we do. Thank you for helping me turn them into something “useful “. See you in the next video.👍❤️
Yes, Eva, you can turn mud into gold!! You have so nicely “featured” your less-desirables in a way that lets them sing their own notes and not overtake. Just your showing us how to start with a base of comfort is worth so much. Gradual building of layers with the old papers, envelopes and ephemera is the icing for this dessert of a journal 😂! Thank you!
Thank you! Very helpful. A thought I had while watching was to use embossing folders on the ugly papers then rub lightly with the inkpads, so the original pattern fades into the background but is still present. Similarly with using stencils over them.
Eva your so creative and your vintage style is unforgettable! You come up with the best projects to try! Not only are you reaching creatively but I am too!❤❤❤. This video was so helpful!❤❤❤
I think you did an excellent job taming the busyness of the patterned paper and created a very calming journal. Very beautiful! And I hope your emotions were also calmed in the creating!❤️
Wow! This video is amazing! Your creativity is just popping off the page with this beautiful journal! I will never look at those difficult to use papers the same way again!
Eva... I've watched your videos for years, and loved every one! I think this little gem is my very favorite, though. I feel like I got to pick your brain, and get into your thought process. Thanks so much!
Eva, these are just fabulous ideas! I can’t believe the difference it made to pair a smaller scale die cut of them with aged pages. I have way too many scrapbook papers that I don’t care for, and this is a great way to use them up. Always appreciate you sharing all your creativity with us! Hugs 🤗❤️
What an interesting way to use those 'uncomfortable ' papers. You made such a gorgeous journal with them, I found myself really liking them 😅. Thanks for sharing this idea xx
Eva, I love this project. The way you took these papers and made them your own. They totally fit together with your vintage style. Thanks for the inspiration. Happy Crafting! xoxo
Hi Eva! Your creativity always amazes me! :) At the beginning I saw how you created almost instant marbled paper! Amazing! Thank you for sharing and teaching us! 🥰🤗
You've always excelled in finding the common thread in your colours and carrying them through your books in the loveliest cohesive way. Fantastic job in taming those wild patterns and colours.
This was very helpful! I was recently generously gifted a very large quantity of well over 1,200 sheets of 12 x 12 papers, many of which are not colors I would choose. Now I can set those aside and look at how I can transform them and use them in smaller bits, so that they aren’t wasted. Wonderful video!
*Crazy Papers*.. hehe!! Love it!!😀... you are the most adorable youtuber..xx Without sounding creepy, I would give anything to spend even one hour with your gorgeousness.. to chat and be in your energy...just amazing Eva..love and Aussie hugs my lovely..🩷🩷🩷😍🩷🩷🩷
You never disappoint! Your creativeness is so inspiring- love all your ideas - we all have papers we hide in the drawer & never use - thank you for sharing your wonderful art with us -
I love that you created something so beautiful from those papers. I definitely have some monstrous papers in my stash that I felt I should just throw away. Maybe they too, could be used like this 🤔
It seems such a simple concept, to find a single coordinating color to tie together a disparate group of patterned papers., then use the decorative paper as accents on two-page spreads (like pillows on a sofa). Yet, I may never have come up with this on my own, so thank you for this video! Now I'm inspired to tackle some of those "crazy" scrapbook papers in my stash.
You nailed it Lani! That's where I took the inspiration, from home décor and how I would spread colours at home. So happy you like this video. Thank you so much for watching xx
Very inspiring! Very creative! I really like your aesthetic. Great way to use those unfavourable papers for the sake of other people’s preferences. Thank you!🦌💌❤️📚
This was very helpful! Thank you for showing how to approach a challenge, in this case working with materials that are outside the comfort zone and the end result was beautiful 😍
Wow!! I love, love, love what you did with these papers!! So inspiring!! This gives me so many ideas on how to use my scrapbook paper in a different way.
Thank you so much for this inspiration! 💖 I’m struggling with this exact problem in a requested journal. I want my friend to be very happy with her journal…my best. I will incorporate your ideas in my style. Thank you again. Your tutorial came at the perfect time. 😊💖😊
Thank you so much Eva, I really really enjoyed watching you incorporate these very very busy paper’s into that journal. It’s not what I was expecting, but it was a very very stunning way to use those paper’s and I really really love ❤️ it. Your so very very talented and clever too. And I will definitely be looking at the paper’s I have and making sure I use them up. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags ❤❤❤
You are so very creative, Eva. I always learn something from you and you are very clear in tutorials. Now maybe I, too, will try to use some of the papers I keep on the bottom of stack. Thx for this lesson. ❤
Oh Eva this came out beautifully! 20 yrs ago I worked in an actual Scrapbook store and I have so many papers that I liked back then but now that my tastes have changed I was almost about to throw them away but now I think I can use at least some of them!! You are truly amazing! Thank you so much for sharing this, you’ve inspired me to do more with those papers!!! ❤
@@paulinemarks6207 That’s what I had planned on doing with them. Our daughter is a school nurse and I was going to send them with her but I’m amazed at how Eva used hers. Some of them I may paint or play with my Gelli plates but some will just get send because of the volume that I have
Hi, I'm here from Instagram. I agree with you, I am uncomfortable with busy backgrounds too. I have used some but I don't like the overall look of some of them. Great idea to find solid colors to go with it. I love the green and sand colored ink paper you created. Wow that next one is amazing too, it does look like the back of a human! Great video, you are very talented!
I have so many paper pads I was going to throw out, now I see how I can use them! Everything you do is amazing, and this is extra amazing! Thank you Ms Eva for all your help and great ideas!
This is so, so beautiful ❤️ I could watch your videos all day. Thank you for this! 🥰 Also, if I may ask, my husband just asked me where you're from (your accent). I told him that I don't know, but it sounds like maybe Austria or Hungarian. He said Scotland 🤦🏽♀️ Could you please settle this? Thank you🥰
Thank you so much for your beautiful words. I'm very happy to hear that you like my videos. 🤗💖 About me, I am czech native. I've never learned English language before I moved to England and I never had a chance to learn at school this language. I learned it from movies, music and most of all from RU-vid craft videos 😍, probably that's why is there mix of accents. 😊 Have a wonderful day and thank you so much for watching xx
@@BohemianCrafting thank you so much for the report ,., Wow! Learning it on your own couldn't have been easy; and even more endearing to me. 💞 Maybe one day, you could do an 'about me' video. That would be really nice. 🩷
I agree that those papers are difficult to work with. They don't even complement EACH OTHER. (⓿_⓿) Hurray for your ingenuity and creativity. You turned a potentially ugly duckling into something wonderful. (But we never had any doubt.) (✿◕‿◕✿)
