I believe, if we are buying used car then, we can reduce the risk by: Buying petrol invest max to max 2.5 lk Keep buffer amount for any initial running repairs Buy from individual seller not dealer We can have argument, rules, fights etc with individual and not with dealers Individual will also agree to hold 10% amount with a friend cum middle man Settle the amount if car does well in the initial couple of weeks Take a mechanic friend while buying the car Give him good tip The car mechanics are always positive to earn extra bucks on holidays just for a visual inspection
Not even 10% , alsonif he asks for 50-60% its worth it....after paying that much amount you can pay him in installments in 1 month ,and you will get 1 month to drive....and check
I can understand his pain. I was going through the same situation. I checked around 22 elite i20 diesel in 5 months and almost got duped 4 times because of meter backing and accident history. But I always got saved because I checked the service history. And in the end, bought Nexon diesel at a good deal. So always check the service history first no matter what.
You have to call directly at the service centre give him the car details and tell them you are interested in buying the vehicle and have the consent of the previous owner.

The problem is people aren't ready to pay to a genuine seller but to these crooks. I thought about selling my 7 years old polo which has done 81000 kilometers and still haven't faced even a single issue and still looks like a new one. People came with their mechanics who checked thoroughly my car and found it perfect but when it came to pricing all they had to say is there is no resale value of this car so they can pay a meagre amount. So I showed all of them out door and decided not to sell it.

You can't point out to the German one. I also have Volkswagen Polo since 2011 driven 76 thousand. Kabhi koi dikkat nahi aayi even meine apni polo mein AC gas bhi ab 9 saal baad dalvaayi hai. Haan sirf ac filter jaroor change hota tha vo bhi saal mein ek baar that's it 👍

Bhai price bhi jada lga diya hai mereko 2012 jetta highline atomatic 4 lakh mein mili thi . Bas gadi ki ek bhi service company se nahi hui hai sirf ek yehi problem hai , par yeh gadi fully driver driven thi aur maine vw ke senior mechanic se check bhi krwayi thi . Abhi tak koi problem nahi ayi hai bus sirf fuel pump leak karne lga tha woh 5000 mein replace hogeya .

Moral of the story: If you want to buy a second hand car, go for a petrol car instead of diesel if possible. Also take a mechanic or a person with you who has knowledge of cars. Check kilometre, history of the car, etc. And always buy a less driven car.

I drove my swift diesel 2.5 lakh and all these things are changed, total cost above 1.5 lakh in repairs , injectors , shocks, bushes , bearing , steering rack, timing chain, etc and injectors are still bad . All repairs were done at agency and agency mechanics are bad . Messed up my car , broke one injectors , complained but nothing, now have enough experience that can have repair from outside and inspect and look at everything he does .
Calculating this guy loss 2014 model Diesel bought for 3.8lakh....estimated cost of repair 1 lakh total cost 4.8lakh....As per motor vehicle rules in Delhi life of diesel cars is 10 yrs...so his car remaining life comes down to 2024.... Conclusion: Total loss 😭😭😭😭😭😭 Lesson learned : Stop Buying second hand cars from untrusted sources like c.p ,Karol Bagh, Subhash Nagar,etc🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
The same thing happened to me, a dealer sold me a Hyundai Accent 2010 model diesel for 2 lakhs, the engine of that thing was gone, and it often got hot and stopped in traffic suddenly, I spent so much money on repairs, the experience of owning a car became a nightmare, I regretted my decision so much, I should have used that 2 lakhs as a down payment for a new car instead, it would have been a headache free experience.
My advice : just please don't repair this car anymore , it's a lost case and I'm talking from experience, i had Vw Vento and i threw around 1 lakh on that and still the problems were persistent. Just please don't go for any other repairs , if possible sell this car asap .
I bought VW Vento 2013 Diesel Top Model and went through similar ordeal. Just one or other problem would come up every now and then. The turbo had issues. It's always two way sword to buy a used car.

Sir , aap ka dukh sun mei flash back me pahunche gaya when I bought indica turbo brand new in 2007. And the same problems occured in 30000 kms only. I purchased the brand new car in 4.25 lacks and sold it in 65000 after 7 yrs. Now I own brand new Honda amaze diesel from 2014 and till now I am the happiest customer

1st lesson never go to karol bagh. Lesson 2 if u have no idea about cars take someone who does with you. Lesson 3 pay a little more and take the car to good svc and get it checked out thoroughly before buying do not rely on some nonsense 125 checkpoint sheet the 2nd hand dealer hands out. Lesson 4 take double precautions w.r.t. German cars high or low end.

We bought vw polo 2013 and we face Same problem..... Car engine has back compressor....2 suspension damage.....water pump... diesel pump...and accidental.....car... Don't trust on dealers...take your own inspection....
I had Vw vento diesel comfortline 2012 model and sold it for 2.5 lacs after 106000 kms and 8 years . It was well maintained vehicle and serviced at Vw mostly . This guy in video was totally fooled . The value of polo wasn’t more than 2.5 lacs that too if it was perfect . During my 8 year ownership I got below parts changed Rear suspension Battery turbo ( EGR) Mirror adjuster joystick Gear wire Timing belt Driver window motor & lifter And let me tell u all parts were very expensive . It’s paid service cost comes around 20-25k at 15000 kms . The car was good. But resale value is pathetic as normal person can’t afford it’s expensive parts . For the time being I am happy with my Ecosport diesel which I bought in 2017 . For vento replacement I think I will buy either xuv700 or mahindra Scorpio 2021 but will wait for sometime till the pandemic ends.
Not every second hand car is bad ! Don't go for too old models and that too Skoda and VW's they are full of major and minor issues ! Look for a brand new mearly used piece , and get it checked twice in authorized service center ( thorougly ) , and then buy it at a good price ! People often fall trap , when they don't look for small things !
Polo is worst car . I own 2018 model and done everything car needs still car is worst Actually i own 2 cars Polo gt tsi june 2018 model done only 24,087 kms and car has many issues And repair it twice to thrice expensive compared to Punto Fiat is way better. . Even you think mine is not good I know 8 more people who owns Vento polo Diesel and petrol And all have some issues And they said no doubt car is good whe.n its in perfect condition When its gives issues This is worst car You believe or not I drove 2015 model Punto Evo 90 sports 80,543 kms on odo not a single issue I am not fan of any brand just own because these 2 are solid cars. . Koi bhi car lo service history check kar k he lena. Agar car ki service history nahi hai tho dur raho car se . Car ki Tyres min 35-40,000km running karte hai. Tyre pe manufacturing year month likha rehta hai. Car 2015 ki hai aur tyre 2015 ki hai aur running 40-50,000 km hai matlab car original running hai. Aur agar Tyre 2017-18 ki hai aur running 40,000km hai matlab odometer change kiya gaya hai.

Same thing happened with my ford figo 2010 three years ago. Warning ⚠light continued blinking and was not able gain speed above 60km/hr . I took it in ford service center where mechanic after 4hrs inspection found that its 2 injectors were damaged and it would cost around ₹40000.I schoked. I somehow able to drive my car in my home town where I took my car to local mechanic. There one injector fully replaced and second one was repaired and it cost around₹24, 000.After that car is running normally but after that I sold out my car quickly as it was heavy expense for me.
Koi jagah ya logon ko defame karne ka intention nahi hai hum mein se kisi ka, lekin yeh baat hai ki car hi nahi, koi bhi cheez agar regular se kam price mein mile toh woh mostly genuine nahi hoti.. aur ek genuine source se lene mein jo investment ki jaaye.. woh totally worth it hai..

Polo is a very good car i had own it more than 8 years. But should not buy second hand and if u are buying then u should purchase from genuine peoples. Not from the dealer. Its full performance oriented car.
