Thanks for subscribing! My wife Michele will most likely stick with the Timemaster. We just sold our Ferris FW15 because she was drained physically mowing all day long, even with a hydro transmission. You’re probably right, she won’t like the extra weight using the Turfmaster or Scag 30 either.

I feel like our mowers run better when they are clean. I know that’s not true. Lol… Yep! Grass clippings build up fast under the belt cover.

I thought the same, I did reset the valves before hand but it was getting worse to the point the motor would seize up.

Tell you the truth, I’m not really sure. As these engines age, I can get an idea of how long they will last.

I consider 500 hrs on a residential non commercial mower a lot. Many professionals utilize this mower commercially. That speaks to its capabilities. Figure a homeowner mows 1 time weekly for 32-40 weeks a year. Say the yard is big do it takes 45-60 minutes. That's 26-40 hrs a year. So thats 10-15 yrs of non commercial use. Chances are engine replacement wont be necessary with this type of utilization and proper maintenance. I have a 2018 Timemaster with the B&S 223cc that I use in a semi-pro application( my side business is lawn care) I run AMSOIL Small engine 10w-30 and non ethanol fuel bought at the pump(Bucee's gas stations) . I find this mower to be excellent that doesn't mean it does not have draw backs. It does. Its my primary push mower for my commercial properties but the majority of those properties are cut with a zero turn. At my home I run a Honda HRX217 21" which is a small property. If I had only one push mower it would be the Timemaster hands down.

@@gls3894 I appreciate the comment. Looks like you take care of your mowers as well. Keeping up with the maintenance really makes all the difference if you want to get the most out of your equipment. Like you mentioned, a typical homeowner should get at least 10 years plus of use if they take care of it. I’m extremely happy to reach 2 years of use before buying another residential mower.

@@gls3894 I only the hrx217. I have 6 of them the last 5-6 years. Two I bought brand new and 4 was used. Unfortunately, my help broke one of the new ones with only 20 hours of use and a used like new. I cut twice a week and about 500-600 hours a year. The early models of the timemaster I was not impressed but seems alot of the issues have been fixed. Now I am trying to figure out if i should go for the timemaster or the turfmaster and if not the scag. I am kinda leaning to the timemaster since basically I can get almost two timemaster for the price of either the turf or scag.

Thanks for commenting! Timemaster don’t come with a hour meter. You have to buy separately and install it yourself.

Some may say I go overboard, I guess I’m brain washed after being a maintenance mechanic for 25 years.

Thanks for commenting! I would have to agree, I would prefer a Honda engine for residential. Of course, commercial would be either Kawasaki or Kohler.
