Some of the most "mundane" yet useful content on NV. Thank you for making these videos, it's the little things like this that seem simple but the little tips improve quality of life quite a bit.
I use an old scuba diving lead shot mess weight bag, I’m at 1.3 pounds on my RL25 thermal and Wilcox mount, dumped some shot out for same or about same weight for back, but damn my neck and shoulder hurt for 4 days! I’m an old broke down 52 years old former Corpsman and Security contractor lol
Nice video! Where can you buy the standalone weights? I have a Mohawk, but need more weight until I can shift my dual 14s into a katana setup. Thank you!
Not necessarily. Everybody is different so it’s best to adjust the weight as needed. Things like helmet sizing, type of helmet suspension, hair, etc. can affect how stable the helmet is. My preference is to add as little weight as possible.
I have a newer opscore bump and it does not have enough velcro in the vertical direction for full contact. not a huge deal but I'll probably supplement some velcro from the 11 piece opscore kit
The new ones should have what looks like a big "W" on the rear with a little a small section just above. You can reference the Gentex site here: shop.gentexcorp.com/ops-core-fast-bump-high-cut-helmet/ The Universal Velcro Kit will get you squared away. You if you don't want to replace all of it and just want a strip of loop, this is where I get all of mine: milspecmonkey.com/store/hardware-diy/328-adhesive-loop-velcro.html#/50-color-marine_coyote/97-width-4inch
@@NITEWALKER-NIGHTVISION the new ones almost have enough, theres still about 1 to 1-1/2 inches of mohawk unsecured. I just tied some shock cord to the two front shock cord loops and went through the vent holes that lined up good. Works for now until I decide what I want to do.
@@simply_based it should be good to go for normal use but if you’re doing stuff where it could get snagged or blown off from wind and if so I’d shock cord it before adding velcro personally
