Usher is no Phil Collins. and he knows it. Usher made this his own song, while doing justice to the original feeling of the song. I usually don't like a lot of remakes, but well done, very well done on actually owning the song and doing it justice.
Lol you're so lucky you had the CD, I was 12 searching the web just to listen to it with our old ass dial up connection, all I found though was like a 30 second snippet on the Disney Mania website and I swear to God I listened to it a thousand times over lol
I use to listen to this when I was kid and even a teenager. Now I’m 22 and I lost my father almost 2 years ago literally in 2 weeks. This song reminds me of him a lot
I listened to this religiously as a kid. This absolutely holds a candle to Phil’s original version but something about this one moves me differently. I used to listen to this and cry lol. It’s still so good to my ears 20 years later.
the minute i heard this cover, i couldn't wait to sing it to my kids one day. phil collins is a musical god, but this sounds so paternal. i have been obsessed with this cover foreverrrrrr.
I didn't hear this version as a kid, I heard it as an adult, and I think it's awesome, smooth, and it actually sounds like a legit Usher song, and that's what I like about it. I didn't know about DisneyMania until DisneyMania 3 came out.
Damn I remember when Disney channel showed the short version of this song (the music video) & I was just literally crying because this song holds a special place in my heart
One year for my mom's birthday, we went to Classic Skating, and the DJ chose this song just after I biffed it out on the rink. That was 2009, and I still haven't put on a pair of roller skates since that experience.
This is the best version of this song and I can’t buy it anymore. It’s even wiped of my phone from a previous purchase with Apple years ago. Thanks a lot Usher!
I personally love this. It is one of my favorite songs and it isn't ruined in attempt to make a good remix. Usher is really talented, you have to be to make this song sound sound good.
I think I was in elementary school when I received this as a gift. I never liked remakes. But this song is just as good as the other. Just a different feel. I fell asleep to this song many times. And this is the sing that made me have a big crush on usher. It used to make me feel like I was floating and warm and cozy and it's...its just crazy because I'm not a fan of music. Never been. But this song gave me goosebumps as a child
Usher, you made this version very perfection back then, and I killed it spectacular, DisneyMania is still the best soundtracks ever. This song is for u Phil Collins, the song was good 👍 years ago. I still wish there was a music video of this, and more from others, I’ve already seen some of the Disney Mania videos years ago, and thankfully the Superstars and Disney Channel Stars and actors and actresses sing Disney their way.
Always loved his version as well as Phil Collins. Such a sweet song, it always reminds me of my husband and I. I remember I got this album on Christmas when I was 12 or 13
This was the VERY first artist that I grew up with first added their twist on Disney songs. And it was MY favorite. And I love how the only thing they change was the beats. Usher still kept it the same as a lullaby a mother would sing but he added his own flair to it. Jessica Simpson still made it sound like a young girl who was curious and excited of the wonderful things another world has to offer. Smash Mouth, still kept it as a Monkey King wanting to scare the stripes off of a tiger but they made it more groovy kind of rock and roll! I honestly thought this was THE BEST way to still kept the tradition of the classic movies Disney had given us, but the artist STILL respected how the beat they have in mind is different but in a positive way to say and remember to keep it next to the reason we love that song growing up. So, with all these remakes I can’t help but feel sad because it is as if they have to change it to make it good or get a high rating…
My very favorite version of this song forever and ever. No offence to Phil Collins, love the man's music, but this version is made of chocolate for the ears.
