There's money to be made to make drugs/treatments good enough so that patients need more to live just enough to make money off them... $$$. Still this research/technique can be beneficial for other medical issues, perhaps some more severe than hair-loss.

@@Milofchg Actually a great deal more money to be made. 1. The clients for these procedures are either failure from current treatments like rogaine. The average daily cost of minoxidil (generic rogaine) is $0.53 per day or $193.45/year. 2. Normal youthful hair density is I believe about 80 hairs per square centimeter or roughly 516 hairs per square inch. 3. Most people do not realize they have thinning hair or bald spots depending on the particular pattern of baldness developing until such has become significant so assume no less than 1000 hairs need replacement and probably at least 2-3000. 4. The if successful the clients could easily be spending over $5000 per treatment (base cost of procedure plus the per hair cost (I believe the average is like $1-$2 per hair follicle implanted)). Depending on many factors the survival rate of the follicles varies from about 35% to 95%. This means those with significant transplant failure rates may desire additional treatments at additional costs. A single treatment could easily reap net revenues for the medical professions equal to 10 - 20 years revenues for the pharmaceutical companies for each customer. 5. Depending on general health, circulation, hormone levels, ... these new hairs will be subject to potential loss at an accelerated rate also. Many of the same factors that resulted in pore transplant success will result in accelerated hair loss from the transplants. This will make the individuals repeat customers also. 6. Finally there is always the possibility this new crowd of fully crowned individuals with become all but religiously avid customers of the pharmaceutical companies producing products like minoxidil. Giving them new customers, and therefore greater profits. 7. If a better/newer product (one with full patent exclusivity) is developed the profits would be high enough to probably justify the pharmaceutical companies to actually pay for the procedures themselves. Much like an ink jet printer is essentially given away and the customers must there after pay for all the new cartridges at exorbitant prices (please note the cartridges are never empty when requiring replacement, they are often based on number of pages printed not ink used). Another example is companies that make diabetic meters GIVE them away, so you will purchase their strips. Once the pharmaceutical companies have the customer, they are bound for life or baldness (worse than death).

For a second I thought you were talking about the pandemic but this was from a year ago I just wish they would put that energy into the hair removal research they had in the beginning of the early 2000s but there is none which is very alarming since you have all these products and devices yet I don't know who's behind the curtain making them honestly I rather go hairless but that's just me I really like the idea of changing up my looks however I want after my last style it's more efficient but please don't get me wrong I understand both issues are aesthetic and they make us upset on how we feel might even make us feel less than but understand my grief is more about the lack of resources and options and having to deal with marketing vultures that do not care about what their products or devices do and just because our issues are cosmetic base doesn't mean that they still aren't considered medical given that it affects us mostly mentally mine is kind of physical just because of my sensory issues but that's about it I hope they do find out something and I hope she got that letter I sent I've said it before if I'm able to induce alopecia universalis maybe they can record my progress to better understand it in a human subject and apply that to hair loss development for treatments

I tried contacting Stemson about their mini pig experiments, and they are ignoring me. I have the contacts of many people there and am being ignored. I am desperate for answers too.
