I tackle the long-overdue task of backfilling drainage trenches around my construction site. I excavate collapsed sections, encase pipes with protective pea gravel, and backfill with soil. But that's not all-I ensure a stable base by incorporating geotextile membrane and crushed rubble, enabling me to navigate the construction site without the hassle of mud. With a mini digger by my side, I navigate challenges and triumphs, dedicating nine days of unwavering perseverance to this labor-intensive project. Experience the joy of progress and witness the fulfillment of a milestone as the landscape evolves into a structured construction project. Join me now and be inspired by the dedication, hard work, and transformative power of this construction adventure.

Andrew Camarata eat your heart out! 👍 You can throw away the 'L' plates, you're a qualified digger man now. Looking good and allows you to get stuff done without breaking a leg.

Genuinely LOLed at 6:10, because we've done that a few times with the Whites quick coupler. It loves to spit those buckets at you!

Huge effort - and it really moved things forward, well done! Your vid was super interesting for me - lots of tips - like that membrane for instance. Having just moved tonnes of hard core with a digger (and knocking my partner over with bucket - he’s still alive 😂 oops)I’m now trying to figure out drainage and how to layer the ground. Yay! Great video - you deserve a rest and a beer :)

All that grading made a hell of a difference. I was working outdoors today, 97F and 88% humidity, a normal Tennessee summer!

@@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT Today's forecast "A very muggy and hot afternoon is in store for the central and southern Tennessee Valley and Sequatchie Valley. The very muggy conditions will produce heat indices of 100 to 105 degrees. Some areas may exceed 105 degrees. These conditions will produce dangerous heat and humidity across the region." Luvvly jubbly!

Nice work, it's coming along nicely now. Love that stage of projects where you can level off the surface; It may not be complete, but it's a huge milestone. We very recently got to the top soil level in our garden after starting huge rework last year (5 skip loads+11bulk bags wheelbarrowed, soakaway, patio laid, drainage, etc) and just having flat ground to walk on felt amazing satisfying. Enjoy those beers!

It's nice being able to see everything properly now 😁 I'm dreading laying the patio even though that'll probably be in another year 🙈 there's so much more landscaping to do 😬
@elminz

@@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT I think once you get into the rhythm of laying them, you'll find it fairly easy. Handling and getting the mortar level right for 90cm slabs was tricky, but 95% of the hard part for us was the planning (hard for its size) and groundwork. The ungodly amount of hidden/buried builders waste, general waste, stone, and concrete more than tripled the time to do the groundwork; also hence 5 full skips. The concrete breaker we got unexpectedly paid for itself many times over; so thank god we didn't hire.

Getting US Willys Jeep vibes from the dumper! Could you now increase the height of the wall or is the height determined from the other side ? Obviously not a priority.. don’t want to give you another job 😅 Much tidier site. Looking forward to seeing the gable side doors and windows go in!
@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT
@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT Год назад
I was considering doing that previously, knocking the coping bricks off and putting another few courses of bricks. That'll end up being pretty expensive though 😑 there's a chance I might put some kind of slatted trellis thing on top if I can bolt it to the back side maybe 🤔 I'll have to chat with my neighbours. I'm not overly fussed though, so yeah something for the future 😂

Like myself, figuring stuff out as you go along feels the best way to operate. I reckon even if you didn't have a camera, you'd be saying the exact same stuff out load to yourself

@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT Год назад
Haha you've got it, I talk to myself all the time cause I'm on my own most of the time 😂 I think there was just too much to resolve on this one to visualise and plan it out before hand, it was a complete mess after all 😬🤭

@@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT fair enough! I think your doing great! Taking all challenges . I also don’t like cameras . Lots of my friends told me to make a RU-vid channel for the work I had and still is doing . I also had no clue who to do pretty much everything . Unfortunately for me while I was doing the work my wife got seriously ill and my 2 year old son who didn’t sleep well since birth turns out to be autistic . I bought a old house with no kitchen and no central heating. Had to gut it and have a basic living space in 8 weeks . Then Covid it then wife got ill and bad nights for 3 years. In that time I built the loft conversion and renovated from scratch the first floor while being a full time mum and dad , cook and clean , look after my wife and kids . I wish you can see the house it’s still work in progress but am glad that wife and boy are ok and have a nice house to live in. I know will be fine and life is life and make the most out of it . Enjoy the process as much as you can and be kind to yourself. All the best mate ! Love you channel mate!

That was a terrific video!! The bit where you were trying to get the big inspection chamber thing in the black pipe 🤣. Also I picked up some of those 600x900x50 slabs this week too and pushed the limits of my suspension!! They are bloomin' heavy. Couple of Q's... What is the purpose of that geotextile membrane? And when you said something about benching in the gully things, what did you mean by that? It looks so different now it's all graded and tidy I bet it's well satisfying! Impressive digger skills too
@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT
@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT Год назад
I was going to get 16 slabs initially but thought I best not kill my van just yet 😂 The membrane stops the crushed rubble from sinking into the soil below. I wasted about 5 tonne of mot type 1 on the slope up to the field cause I didn't put a membrane down first 🤦‍♂️ I said benching but that's what you do inside a manhole 🤭 I meant haunching, you do both with cement. For haunching you build up cement round it to keep it in place.
