Using a Tent Platform On The Trail 

That's a good idea.I usually just use platform stakes. The ones I use only need about 3/16" gap, maybe down to 1/8" or you can hook them over the edge of the boards. They're realatively cheap and strong enough to use in heavy storms and strong winds and 6 or 10 of them don't take up much space or weigh that much either. You can get a 10 or 12 pack for about $8 or $10. They make life much easier and less stressful and aggravating. You can also bring eye lags or regular square head lags that you can put inbetween the boards if there's no gap. Another thing you can do, if you have enough guyline is run your guylines out and over the platform and use regular stakes. I sually carry up to 8 but at least 4 premade guylines that are ten feet long each in addition to the ones already on my tent which are about 6' long. I usually carry 8 if I know I'm going to have to use a platform. That way I can tie two together if they aren't long enough down to the ground. Just depends on how much room you have and how concerned you are with weight.

i have my texsport dome tent set up on my backyard patio. I need to do some adjustments with he roof tarp on how i want it set up to match the dome shape of the tent & i also have a ground tent for extra protection. i have stakes but never used them since im on the patio. i like how you used rocks the stakes in between floor boards
