With competing demands and limited budgets, state and local policymakers need reliable and timely data to plan effective programs for their constituents. The U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (ACS) is a critical resource for evaluating community needs and prioritizing requests for assistance. In this webinar, experts described how they are using ACS data to inform decisionmakers at the state and local levels. Presentations included examples of using ACS data to estimate child care needs, develop alternative poverty measures, and other applications.
