The new Tundra is available with a rear air ride suspension that raises, lowers and auto levels the truck. In this video I give you a quick demonstration of this feature and show you its effectiveness. Subscribe to follow the journey as I provide in depth coverage of the Tundra and make some modifications to enhance the overland and off-roading capabilities of mine.

Great demo and visuals. I like the view of the contrast in height with the Limited on 35s and the use of the Air Ride to change height from normal to high and then to low. I had a chance to get a 2022 Limited with the Air Ride and I'm glad I went with the 2022 Limited TRD OR instead. Looking through the manual, it appears that no matter what, the Air Ride suspension will return to Normal mode when you get to a set speed - 8 mph for low and 18 mph for high. I just finished a trip to Colorado Springs pulling a 5700 lb. trailer and doing some minor off-roading with the truck. The DAC was awesome in a long stretch of steep gravel downhill road with quite a few switch backs. It was nice that I wasn't riding the brakes and running up on anyone in front of me. Didn't need the Crawl but I still tried it out to get familiar.

I have a TRD Sport on order and was looking to maybe add the AVS to the order but couldn't find an option to add it on either of the TRDs. Going to be pulling a travel trailer and thought it would be a good option. Might have to be an aftermarket option for me.

Do you notice better ride quality with air? Do you notice bed bounce and frame flex going over bumps? A disconnected feeling between the front and rear axle.

So wait if I get air bags and I often tow and I adjust it to high go over 18mph it goes to normal? Is that auto leveling it or will it squat

This is only for the leveling system correct? It's independent of the AVS system?

I’ve been confused about their product function - but I think you answered it, you can go up or down an 1” or so, but >18 mph it automatically goes back to normal height. So how does that function as auto leveling for towing purposes - since you will tow at > 18 mph?

The air ride will lift or lower the truck as needed to achieve its standard ride height... so for example if a heavy load in the back or a trailer is weighing it down in the rear, the air ride suspension will raise it back to its standard height.

I have this 1794 with the advance package so it does comes with the air suspension and avs. I'm not sure if it was a great purchase or not as though the ride quality is not that great.

Is there any notable difference in ride quality with the AVS option on the trucks?

Not really... its minuscule at best

@@DrivenCompanion When you say minuscule, are you saying the LLS or standard suspension is better? Looking for a comparison for normal non-towing use. I’ve located a vehicle with LLS and just wondering if I should it avoid since that wasn’t a need. Assume cost isn’t an issue. Thanks.

Does the trd pro come with air ride? I noticed you didn't mention it unless I missed it....

Have you towed with the TRD? How does it tow compared to the air ride?

I feel like the air ride is pointless then. Also, having the air ride RESTRICTS any type of suspension lift. Smh.
