This presentation explores how amber is providing a new source of information in the study of dinosaur bonebeds. This material allows palaeontologists to create more detailed reconstructions of the habitats that dinosaurs occupied, digging deeper into their palaeoecology and the palaeogeography of the surrounding landscapes. Amber also provides a unique opportunity to study the soft tissues of dinosaurs and ancient birds preserved in 3D with microscopic detail. Ryan McKellar of the Royal Saskatchewan Museum explores how this new data source is improving our understanding of these animals and palaeontological reconstructions.
