Using and navigating with your Wacom Intuos Pen

Need help getting starting with your new Intuos or are you just researching drawing tablet options? It is easy to start creating with your new Wacom Intuos pen tablet.
Make sure to grip your pen right in the middle so that your index finger is placed right over the front pen button. Hover the pen above the surface of the tablet to move the cursor in real-time. The tablet active surface area reflects the area of your display(s)/ monitor(s). Place the pen in the top right corner of the tablet and the cursor will snap directly to the top right corner of the screen.
Tap the pen tip to the surface of the tablet to perform a mouse click and so a double tap of the pen tip performs a double mouse click. Press the button on the pen while hovering to right-click.
Dragging the pen tip on the tablet, allows you to drag documents, for example. You, can also apply pressure with the pen on tablet and that will make for thinner or thicker strokes in drawing tools.

I never knew you could use these as a mouse! I might buy one just for that reason, to help me with wrist discomfort and also so I can use it left handed. I must say that it is strange to me not putting the pen down on the pad. I wonder if that might give me troubles.

ahh, can someone please help me,..... every time I use my tablet I can't draw with my pen......i need to press with my keys for the pen to actually put anything down and it does not click it just hovers I can't make it draw by itself or click with just the pen... I am so sad I was so excited now I can't even use it some please please please help me...

can i use the pen always touching the trackpad and use the click function only when i press the button? It's weird for me to have to keep this distance between the pen tip and the trackpad... I would like to keep the pen tip always touching the trackpad and click only when I press the specific button for that.

I just purchased a Wacom intuos s. I can select text, drag items, open folders but somehow I can't draw in gimp :( The pen of my other wacom (Intuos 3) works fine ... any idea what I need to do in order to solve this ? Thanks

Just bought my intuos a few days ago, and the pen seems to double click when only tapping the pen once. I have all the latest drivers installed. Why is this happening? :(

Hi Kota, thanks for reaching out. I am very sorry to hear that this is occurring with your Intuos tablet. Most likely, you will need to change the "Tip Feel" or the "Double-Click Distance" on Wacom Tablet Properties. How do I disable the hovering on the pen? Is it possible to make it only click when it taps the tablet itself? (the setting Pen Button Mode does not work.)

Thank you for reaching! We are sorry to know that you are having issues with the tablet's pen features. Unfortunately, the hovering feature of the pen cannot be disabled. However, the pen should click only when you tap the tablet's surface with it. Is it doing so when you are hovering the tablet's surface with the pen? If that is the case, please provide us the tablet's model, Wacom driver version and operating system of your computer. Please let us know about anything else that we could help you with. -ET.

you can scroll without any button on windows all you have to do is you have to enable windows ink in wacom driver settings.

hello i had wacom intuos since 2018 and i used to use it on my laptop, i lost the pen and ordered a new pen from amazon and it worked with my laptop, but now i got a new pc and i wanted to use my wacom tablet on it my problem is that the tablet got connected but the pen doesnt work at all( it didnt connect) do u know how to fix this?

it appears to be that the icon for the bluetooth "pen" is a mouse, how do i change it to the pen so the pen will work?

Hello Wacom, I just got my Wacom Intuos and I have soon found myself a problem. My pen will not work with Clip Studio Paint. I don’t know if you need to connect the tablet with the program or something like that, but what I do know is that my pen is in function with the tablet for when I press the diagnose button everything seems to be communicating right. I would really appreciate if anyone could help.

Wacom!!!!! I’m so excited because I just got it working!!!!! My computer was blocking your Center so I fixed that and now it is working! Thanks for replying so quickly Wacom. I’m sure I will really like this product now that it’s fixed.

Hello! I recently received a Wacom Intuos tablet for Christmas, so I opened up an art program and started drawing. I noticed a problem though, whenever I draw too fast (like making quick circles, scribbles) the tablet would still think I'm drawing even when I lifted the pen off the tablet. Is there a way to change this? Like going to the sensitivity settings or something?

@@wacom I have a Wacom Intuos model CTL-4100, the computer I'm using is a Windows 10 Toshiba laptop, and my driver is up to date (6.3.32-4).

Hi! I'm so sorry for this. We can try to reset the driver, like so: open Wacom Desktop Center > Click on "Backup Settings" (to backup your preferences) > click on "Reset Settings". This will force the driver to reboot and hopefully fix the issue. Hope this helps! Cheers!^DP

Set one of the pen buttons to "scroll", then click and hold that button and drag.

No it does not have touch screen, it only senses the pen...

Yes you can, If you flip the tablet and see at the top, there should be a switch which will allow you to switch from track pad to tablet and vice versa

Hello, i used to tip the pen with the tablet and drag up and down to scroll the page without pressing the button. but after i reinstall my windows, it reset the settings to default that makes it has to pressing the button to scroll . Do you have any idea how to make the tablet scrolling the page without pressing the button?

Just gonna say (I hope anyone else relates to this), my pen is fine, it has a short nib for now but I remember sometimes having to tap the second time or more on applications I'm using on the taskbar, especially CLIP STUDIO (the light-grey design that shows your current work). It doesn't close immediately when I'm clearly tapping on it UNLESS I do it at a tiny distance, a very soft and gentle tap (who does that?). FRICKIN' ANNOYING and stupid. Is the response impaired? The mouse has no issues so I don't know why cannot operate equally. That's my current experience.
