Yemen's geology is ancient, but the last 66 million years have included a lot of volcanic activity. Some areas of the southwest have volcanic deposits as much as 1500 m thick. Most modern volcanism in Yemen is concentrated in the west, with eruptions occurring sporadically through the last few centuries. I'm not sure what the geological cause of the volcanism is but considering that the types of lava erupted are predominantly basaltic to trachybasaltic (low silica, low to moderate alkali; overall fairly runny and relatively high-temperature lavas) the cause is likely to be either a hot spot (a hot area of the mantle which melts through the crust and causes volcanoes, like at Hawai'i or Yellowstone) or related to extension (the crust pulling apart and creating gaps that allow magma to well up)-I'd say probably extension. Yemen also owns a handful of islands in the Red Sea, which is slowly growing wider as Arabia moves east relative to Africa, creating a gap in which magma can well up and create new oceanic crust (like what happens all the way down the middle of the Atlantic); a couple of Yemen's islands are peaks along this mid-ocean ridge, and they have a type of lava called basalt (the most common ocean-floor rock type), which means their specific lava type is called a mid-ocean ridge basalt, or MORB for short :/ (as opposed to an OIB-Ocean Island Basalt, like Hawai'i). A couple of these volcanoes have erupted in the last few decades; a 2007 eruption of Jabal al-Tair Island caused the collapse of the western half of the island. A small Yemeni military base had been based there and while most of the staff had been evacuated before the eruption, unfortunately several had been unaccounted for and bodies were later recovered from the water.

The "Transfers from traders downstream" modifier gives 20% of your provincial trade power to all immediately upstream nodes. "Ship trade power propagation" does the exact same thing, but the base value is zero so it doesn't apply unless you have that age bonus or another source for it, of which there are only a few. "Ship trade power" is another modifier and it does what you think it does.
The Coffee province on the strait has 3.00+ trade goods, why didn't u dev it or is it removed from the game with all the mods... i was crying when u devved that prov to renaissance

Handing out monopolies to the estates is SUPER worth it early game for any goods you produce a tiny amount of. If it's something you have in 1-2 provinces the money lost is negligible, 10 loyalty for 0 influence is very nice to have, but it's the mercantilism that's the real prize. 100 mercantilism gives +200% provincial trade power, and trade company provinces get +100%. I've gotten the TC merchant bonus before from controlling ONE single center of trade province in a node (bonus if it has an estuary) thanks largely to mercantilism. +1 for monopolies

Just a idea about the marines only Genoa! With the modes you used in this video (maybe some more) you can get some nice marines. Any country that can do marines is about trade soo might aswell spice it up and steal some trade from ottomans
But mercantilism is not capitalism. It's an old economic system that predates the modern conception of economics being a capitalism-socialism spectrum that's basically what modern people would consider corruption, just state-sponsored and deliberate.
Don't sleep on Adal they have a more vibrant color, their ideas are all military and trade, and by hitting Ethiopia immediately you can prevent them from getting strong and get their vassal's gold in the first war.
@@tgoas3503 Yes yes of course it's not in Yemen at the start of the game. But it's also not in Zanzibar, Cape, Ivory Coast, Malacca, etc at start but last time I played them I spawned Global Trade in the Cape node so anything is possible. 😎
