I was on opioids for 25 years due to a back injury and the surgery done to correct the damage. They prescribed both Oxy and Methadone. I kept a Narcan prescription with me at all times just to be safe. I weaned myself off of opioids over a six week period and haven't looked back. I'm one of the lucky ones. I've known people who were prescribed opioids who died from overdoses. One of my best friend's wife died in his arms because of opioids. We've got to come up with better methods for pain management than opioids because they're killing us!

I deal with constant pain every day from my various injuries (I fell off a scaffolding 3 years ago and broke 5 ribs and my left arm just to add to it). The struggle is real. Keeping up with my homestead here is my rehabilitation therapy because the worst thing that I could do is to stop moving. Thank you for watching our video. I pray that God brings you healing and joy. Thank you for sharing your story and it reminds me to keep on the path going forward.
