I was reading on treating rust and i found that you can mix baking soda in a spray bottle to treat it and possibly peroxide definitely look it up for mixing ratios just thought id share that information
I have one of those puffers which is definitely best for treating the underside of leaves; but whenever possible, I prefer to apply DE with a kitchen flour sifter.
OK, great design! I'm going to leverage heavily on your setup to create a "U" shaped version. I was considering allthread to prevent bowing, but think the Simpson strapping will work better.
07/04/24 I was checking my squash today, and I found brown eggs and a squash bug laying eggs. I thought it was a stink bug, but after researching, I found out that the eggs and bug were a squash bug. Any time you see eggs on the back side of your leaves, you need to remove them. It only takes approximately 10 days for the eggs to hatch and become infested with squash bugs.
If you use that dry Spinoza bottle correctly it works just fine. It is a duster bottle with flexible plastic walls. Use your fingers and squeeze it like the „duster“ you had mentioned while describing this. Hold it vertically with the opening facing up and squeeze the bottle sides in quick strong intervals. The left over air in the bottle is your friend.
Ants follow their own trails .. as they leave an invisible scent that others can follow. Taking a container and placing it somewhere might take a while to get noticed by the ants .. so in my case .. I have some pole beans they are working on .. so I took a bean with a lot of aphids on it and placed it on top of the container. I also took some ants on another bean and shook it off onto the container .. this way they'll leave a trail going home .. I also placed a drop of the mixture on the stems .. the beans grow out of .. they immediately began sucking the sugar up. A little later several ants were on top of the container .. which needs to be covered in case it rains.
As I understand things, you DO want ants on your peony plants because the flowers will not open without the help of ants, but you DO NOT want to see ants on your vegetable or fruit plants; ants are a very bad sign for those. I keep my peonies in a separate area, far from food I am trying to grow. Thank you for the tip. I plan to use this tip as extra protection for my edible garden plants.
Uh. Wouldn't the worms eat through the cardboard and just fall through? The spacing on the pipes at fhe bottom is too big of a gap and they will all escape after the cardboard has been eaten through enough. I'd put that mesh screen on the bottom as well so the castings can drip through. I hope you didn't lose all your worms!!! Oh man. They will also slowly eat the wood too, but probably Years until the wood is eaten enough to escape from.
In my country, weather will eat those 2x4 in a year, maybe 3 with the oil. Great design but I feel it could be better. What about screwing the strapping in the sheet metal, and putting 2 more of them at extremities for when the wood fail?
If you cut off the leaves that are infected the most with Aphid you will save your DE for the others. You really do not need the leaves below the fruit head on Zucchini. It will go up a trellis if you tie it up.
With 100 percent cold pressed need oil its best to have the azidiractin or however you spell it. But you have to mix it eith a soap to help it bind with water. Using unscented dish soap is recommended
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23) Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30) I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (Luke 13:5) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)
