In this job I’m first fixing a shower valve for 4 jets, a hand held sprayer and a fixed head! That’s 6 outlets on a shower!
This install was done in full copper with brass valve and using every plumbing skill in one Job!
Soldering the backplates, pressing the copper fittings and pipe bending to the max! 90 degree bends full cross bends to get the job done!
Sit back and watch me with some asmr plumbing sounds getting this job sorted. Let me know if you would have done anything different!

why do they put pipe dope, plumbers joint compound, or whatever it’s called on those threads. the threads doesn't seal it. There’s a flange and that flange is the part the seals it not the threads. so why put pipe dope on the threads?

@spanky8164
@spanky8164 2 месяца назад
Yes I’ve always thought the same way about the “O”rings failing at some point. I’m a dinosaur I guess and will always use copper and either soft solder or silver braze the joints. Also where there is a risk of fire during hot work I’ll use flared compression fittings instead.
@solo8820
@solo8820 2 месяца назад
The O ring doesn’t make the seal Google the process of a Viega pro press fitting. The stop sign shape it presses the pipe and fitting into actually makes the seal. You can press it without the o ring up to 3000 psi. I thought the same thing for years because I didn’t know any better. I use to talk crap on press. There’s even a hole in the fitting where water will leak out of if not properly seated. It’s marked by a green dot. (I learned a lot by educating myself with truth not rumors.)
