This is a very good tutorial Sam. I think you covered the various types of lacquer and their application very well. I have been using Wipe On Poly for the most part but after seeing this video I may try lacquer for my next turning. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂 PS I loved the opening shot. Two American beauties together.
Lacquer is one of my favorite finishes. I use my small, gravity feed air brush. before I spray it on I first thin the lacquer with 50% lacquer thinner. Thinning the lacquer lets it absorb quickly and also dry quickly. I have used brushing lacquers from both Deft and Minwax with excellent results.
Great lesson on the use of lacquer. I haven’t used it before but will give it a try. BTW what is the blue articulated hose near your lathe. I have been trying to find something like that.
Wow, you have a very good eye. That is called a opposable arm. It is made by Record Power. You can find it at the woodturningstore.com. If you can’t find it, let me know. I have put out some videos on my cam, Vac and I showed that in one of the videos how I have that attached for sanding on my Lathe. Sam
