If you want a good series with some political intrigue and fantasy romance I highly recommend Defy the Night by Brigid Kemmerer. I loved every moment in that series and I still think about it to this day.

For overcoming trauma I highly suggest Before I Let Go by Kennedy Ryan. It’s a slow-burn second chance romance but more than anything it’s about therapy and healing

The Jasmine Throne is a political fantasy. I really enjoyed it. :) A Memory Called Empire is a political scifi that is really good too! Not sure if you've read it or not.

For social experiment book I’m about 75% through all this and more by Peng Shepherd. And it’s got a lot of interesting elements. I’m still not sure where my rating is gonna land. It was gonna be a five star and then it’s kind of dropping for various reasons but it’s still really good. But it has definitely the social experiment as well as AI or technology performing badly. It also has time traveler or playing with alternate realities. The premises that there’s this technology called the bubble and you can try different paths of life and it’s set on a reality TV show so like they pick a star and then that star lives in the bubble and then they are choosing they have choices for different path of life and then based on that they could see like what way their life goes and there’s a lot of commentary on like choice and fate and how your choice is affect other peoples lives. And the way that the book is set is you could read it like just straight through or you can do choose your own adventure and it says if you’re gonna make this choice go to this page and I think that is a lot of fun too.

Dark Shores by Danielle Jensin(sp?) and that series has politics, religion, and a bit of mythology if you are ok with a bit of YA. I read the first to boos of the series so far.

I don’t envy you attempting to predict what will be 5 stars. I’ve picked up books which logically should have been 5 star classics that completely sucked. Even picked up things from authors I loved and been bitterly disappointed. To be honest I even struggled to decide what star ratings to give books I HAVE read consistently let alone predict what star ratings it will be in advance. That’s why I came up with a spreadsheet in the end 😂

Here she recommendations for you, because I also love dystopian and books that play with time. Dystopian: upright women wanted, which is sapphic female Cowboys in the near future and it’s short. The great transition which is a near future climate thriller esque dystopian. The word exchange Time: waterfall, young adult, 14th century Italy, romance with a night. Time after time Manhattan Hwnge

@@FourPawsandaBook Nice! Almost everything he writes has the political and religious backdrop going for it. His first book, Elantris, has even more religion than the Mistborn books do
