Central NH here. Like the pig hut. I did the same last year but with a tarp, with the heavy wet snow this past winter it collapsed and wasn't fun trying to straighten it back out. I'm debating removing tarp, reinforcing or at the very least flipping on end to avoid rebuilding it again. Also got my piglets on the back of the truck this year...lol I think "this is going to be nightmare" was my words verbatim (maybe some more colorful words as well) 😂

Just one electric shock for you thus far, and no branches giving you a fat lip this year. :) So far so good! Looks like the pick up and transfer went pretty smoothly, and the pigs all look healthy and happy.

I’ve moved 4 piglets in the trunk of a Camry before 😂 It was only a couple miles but worked out just fine. Moving up to your neck of the woods this summer. Wife and I took some job offers in Keene.

Be sure to reinforce the new pig shelter or it wont stay up.😊

Like why didn't you back the truck up, put a piece of plywood down for a ramp, and put food to lure them in. That looks like the hard way and labor intensive. Well, maybe next time, lol.

I am raising 2 pigs for the first time this year. Do you butcher yourself or take them somewhere? I can’t seem to find a butcher who will call me back so I’m starting to think I am going to have to do it myself which wasn’t what I had planned.

Hi, how did you get on finding someone? We do a pig butchery and sausage making in Wales,UK but if you have any questions, let us know, and we'll do our best to help. It can be a little intimidating the 1st time you get your own pigs back.

@@myrddinheritage I never did find someone so I think I have resigned myself to the fact we will have to do them ourselves. I want to be able to do it anyway but I didn’t think I would do it with our first round of pigs. I won’t be able to do some of the butcher cuts as I don’t have a bandsaw for meat but I’m sure I can still get some good cuts. Mainly we want bacon, ribs, pork loins and sausage so that should be easy to do. I’m more intimidated with the scalding/scraping process. I don’t have a huge dunk tank to dip them in to scald them. I suppose I can always skin them.
