awesome! Glad to here that Christine! And thanks for letting me know! There’s a whole quilt along project available using the VersaTool! If you are interested, let me know if you need help finding all the links. I believe I have a list I can give you.
I'm so glad I found your tutorials on the Versa Tool. I've been thinking about buying one as I'm just now going to try to start quilting with rulers but was not sure what ruler I needed for a starter ruler. This one seems perfect & you have shown so many different ways it can be used. Thank you!
I’m thrilled! If you haven’t seen them, I posted a ruler Work project quilt along that was actually a class I did but will be revising. There are about 13 videos and now I am going back and doing free motion fill on the design. There is one more post I hope to make tomorrow morning and that project will be totally complete!
@@pennyolive9000 Can you tell me (or give a link) where to find the 13 videos. I've done a search & can't seem to find them. I'm hoping to order the ruler sometime next week. Thanks so much.
Here are the first 10 links. Thank you soo much I have had the Versa tool for a long time w/o any luck and I can not wait to try your ideals out and I have learned many things from your tutorials. So it is not money wasred as I also have the line tamer.
You are so welcome, Loretta! The VersaTool is a great way to get into ruler work without the initial expense. The Line Tamer is my go to template for straight lines. If you haven’t run across the videos yet, I have a whole series doing a smaller wall hanging with the VersaTool. If you have troubles finding them, I would be glad to send a list of the links. It’s makes good use of both of those. Thanks for touching base!
Thank you for the excellent video, I just purchased the Versa Tool and have been trying to figure out where to start to practice. Hopefully this would be a good starting point for a beginner...to try the different techniques and continue watching your other video's. Thank you again. PS Would you consider making a tutorial on how to make a star and possibly a heart?
Thank you so much, Chris! There are several videos on my channel that show ways to use the Versatool so I hope they help. Just to clarify, were you wanting the star and heart designs with the Versatool or freehand?
@@pennyolive9000 Hi. I was hoping for a tutorial using the Versa tool. I didn't know if these tutorials are available. Starting to watch and rewatch your videos. Again 10 star's, they are all so helpful..Thank you
What stores carry this versa tool? also do you sell it yourself? i have some of these rulers to quilt my own quilts ,but this one i don't have . thank you for your ideas. Ginny from Jacksonville Fla
That is great! I am having trouble finding #1 as there are other videos with the same name and number. Can you post a link to #1 of this group of videos for me. I just got a longarm and the versa tool so everything is new information for me. Thank you!
Hi , another great tutorial, I want to try this and was wondering what size star block did you use. Thanks again. This really shows the different uses of the Versa Tool ...
Hi Chris! I’m so sorry! Sometimes I get these late. Anyway, that is a 12” block. Also, I’ll be sharing the videos from my ruler Work class over the next couple of weeks so you might want to keep your eyes peeled. It is done completely with the VersaTool
@@pennyolive9000 Hi Penny...Thanks so much for your help and please don't worry I am still watching and re-watching your star block video. I will keep watching.. practicing, I can't wait to see your class videos. Quick question, if you have a high shank ruler foot, should you use the 1/4 inch template vs low shank ruler foot, use the thinner templates? Thanks again for helping me to figure this out.
I started posting those today, Chris! And in general, that should be how they work. A high shank will normally work with 1/4” rulers but could possibly go over the top of a 1/8” ruler. And the low shank normally won’t even work with the 1/4” rulers as they won’t fit under it.
@@pennyolive9000 Hi Penny..thanks for getting back to me so quick..So as I have a high shank machine, Janome 7700QCP , I should in the future purchase the 1/4 inch rulers,,any recommendations? Do most companies have the various size rulers, my versa tool work's good with my Janome, no rush on answering me, I know you must be very busy. It's so nice to be able to talk with some one about this new wonderful way to do the ruler work..Have a great evening, thank you again. Chris
Hello, I'm from Germany and I'd like to know the following: Where can I buy the ruler tool that is used from minute 6 to 7. Or can you please tell me what it is called then I know what I have to look for. Many thanks for your video. Its very intereesting and helpful for me.
Thank you, Anne! That is the Line Tamer Ruler. In the U.S. you can get it online from Four Paws Quilting. There is a 1/2” and 5/8” opening but most machines use the 1/2”. I believe they have information that will confirm what will work for your machine.
