Fiber Artist, Pat Statzer using pieces of men's silk ties to create a mosaic like patchwork of shapes and color on a blank silk scarf by transfer in a hot vinegar and water bath.
Pat, thanks for this great exposition. I was cleaning my dad's ties out (he passed), and I was looking for ways to reuse his ties. I will make these for my step mom and my sister!
Karen, I use about 1 cup of vinegar to a large pot of water. I add the vinegar when I put the water in the pot. Let the roll of ties steam for about 20 minutes.
