@@XNBeatsMusic HELP idk why, (first time opening) (first hardware synth) but i cant get it to work (asides from the A440) so, the oscillators arent changing anything, same for the tuners or any other settings, please help
This is a FANTASTIC guide. I have owned my Model D for over two years. And while I have no problem easily finding great sounds, I never quite understood much of what I was actually doing. Now I do. Thank you.
Brilliant guide. Thank you. What software did you use to show the waveform? Everyone I've downloaded isn't the same, and not very easily understood in comparison.
Hi, i have a qestion about the CV-voltages. I asked this in a Behringer-group on facebook, but nobody answered. There are different ways control voltages may work. Some synths have a voltage going from 0V to (lets say) +8V, others have a voltage from -5V to +5V. What kind of voltages are used in this synthesizer? Are they all above 0V or are the voltages going from minus to plus? Thanks for your informations...
Absolutely mega great!!! Thank you! So good to see people doing such awesome things to help others! I hope it will be many of inspiration from here to come to fruition!!! :) Thank you again!!!
Quick question, I own a pro-800 and a MPC One, been using the MPC to add effects but I feel I need pedals to really expand it, thinking of picking up at least the Empress Reverb, also looking to get a Model D, is the Empress a good pedal in general for synthesizers or would you recommend a different one if I'm going to use it for these 2?
I’ve only been using my model d for bass sounds as I have no clue about the modulation capabilities. This amazing tutorial changes everything. Thank you so much. I’ll sign up to your Patreon asap.
hello! I bought a model D, but as soon as I turn it on, the overload light just blinks, the power light doesn't come on and it doesn't recognize the USB port either. somebody could help me?
Hi, great video. I just have one question before I take a deeper dive into it. I am using Ableton Standard 11, with an Arturia Keylab MKII Midi keyboard I have no issues with external hardware I am using except for when using the Model D as I am running this through the USB Midi cable and not audio. I have one channel that is set up for Ext. Instrument and the Model D plays on this channel with an additional Midi Channel that is armed. Unfortunately I am only getting audio from the Ext. Instrument channel on the left side, so only one speaker (monitor). I am a novice to this home recoding thing and do it just as a (nice) hobby. Can you please explain why the Ext. Instrument only has sound coming out of one side, how would I rectify this? Your assistance or anyone else's for that matter would be greatly appreciated. One other thing the latency seems to be a bit delayed when striking a first note on the midi keyboard.
Hi! I bought a Behringer model D, and when I turned it on only the overload light blinked and it didn't do anything else, they changed it for a new one and it does the same thing, so I tested the power supply of my rd-9 and it works perfectly, What do you think the solution would be?

Thanks a lot for this tutorial. My Model D will arrive in a few days :) I wanted to ask what spectrum analyzer you use. The waveform view is a nice complement to the spectrum chart.
can you tell me why one buys this to add to a keyboard instead of buying a synthesizer with sounds built in? like poly d? or any other cheaper options?
Great video, as always. I have a question: what device did you use to trigger the sounds? A midi controller? And how did you connected it? Because I see the midi port empty.
regarding release and decay on this device: so, when i have no release stage (flip button is off), the dial controls the decay. if the button is on, does that mean there is no decay stage? or is decay and release in that case the same time and controlled by the dial?
Thank you so much for making this video. The first 15 minutes alone are pure gold analog education. The kind of power in this little synth is incredible. Thank you so much for making it understandable.
Thanks, that was the plan. Making the best "family show" guide for this synth. I'll be posting more about it soon. If you like little synths...take a look at Neutron ( there is a guide like this coming in a few days), it's an amazing little synth, capable of a lot.
I think theres something wrong at 48min Patch Mode Source. Modulation is happening because of default routing of Filter EG, if you remove your patch cable its still gonna modulate. Patch cable is doing nothing in this case. This is what I'm experiencing right now.
Yes, I think the moog or in this case the Model D is a great synth to learn synthesis. Gives you really cool sounds and once you get it, i mean how it all works( envelopes, filters, so on ) you start understanding other synths way faster. Thanks the support, it really helps.
@@Melodic623 Congratulation then. First is the POLY D guide, arpeggiator and everything and then the making sounds. It will take some time, this takes a lot of work and time, editing, filming etc etc. But they will e public soon enough. Hope they help. Thanks for the comment :)
@@XNBeatsMusic take your valuable time bro. I definitely appreciate the hard work. In the meantime most synth principals are similar so I’ll be studying your other videos. 🙏
Well thanks you for watching :) And yes, the K2 will come soon, right now is at the repair shop, used it a lot so a couple of things stopped working. With the CAT I cannot really promise anything, all the synths I do is because I bought them, Behringer doesn't provide anything for me. So If I can find one on the used market, I promise I'll get it and do a deep dive.
Always wondered why the Contours weren't in what seemed the logical order Attack-Sustain-Decay ... get it now, the logical order actually is Attack-Decay-Sustain. And thanks for the patient patch-bay demo.
Hello Good Sir..I have a question..Is is possible that you do React courses on Udemy? I am sure that I heard your voice there...anyway...now...I need to study how to use the Model D. Thanks!
Thanks man. Nobody ever said a thing, korg, arturia, Behringer, nobody. Still, I was never counting on getting help from companies, so it doesn't hurt :) ( Menos si sos Argentino y vivis en el C. del mundo...)....hopefully you name is USHUAÏA because you are Argentinian.
HI pass filter is for resonance as a 4th oscilator... It works that with cutoff i can hear all three osc as good as resonance with KB controll (1&2). Other than that it is useless. But, yeh... it is good to have that option.
I was wondering where the R was in ADSR, now I know. Thanks, this was a very good turorial. Other demos juat play songs or sounds and do not demonstrate what the different knobs and switches do.
Hi, great video, thank you. There will be something similar for Neutron, Pro-1, K2 and Cave? I know it would be a lot of hard work but it would be amazing. Cheers!!!!
hey, thanks for the comment. Yes, Neutron and K2 for sure. The crave I had, no longer available so I am trying to get one. I don't think I am going to do a PRO-1. I would have to buy one, but if I find a cheap used unit, yeah, for sure.
Next, Monopoly, then DeepMind already recorded. Then is neutron, K2 and maybe i can find some other Behringer synths in the market. Not so easy to get where I Live. I would love to have Behringer support to access synths since they are not available or I have to purchase them all which i cannot do just to make a review, but I think I am far from getting support from the brand.
Thanks. Glad you like it, this one was the first one. Like a "pilot", since people liked it so much, I am creating new content around this one and others. Thanks for the comment.
Like the tutorial. But after I tried the patch (around 1 hour in) for LFO Out to LC Gate In. My model D now will not play with the patch removed. It just plays a click every time I press a key. Can you help?
hey, well it could be a lot of things. Do the following, turn it off. unplug the cables from the patch bay and set it to all saw, volume of osc all they way up, envelopes all to 0 but the sustain all the way up. You can send me a picture on instagram or look me up on FB facebook.com/XNBmusic and send me a picture so i can see or try to reproduce it. Maybe it broke, who knows.
@@XNBeatsMusic Thanks for the quick reply. You are a star! My problem was I had all the envelope modifiers set to 0. I needed to either give it more delay or more sustain. I thought I'd broken it. Thanks again.😀
@@cplcrapper7654 Yay !!!! cool man. Good it was not the "broken" option. Either was this synths since they are very analog, they are easy to repair. You replace a patch bay in 10 minutes with a solder.
oh, I have a lot of connectors. You see part of the recording, but the raw footage is much longer, so you feel the impact of repeating connectors and word a lot more. But the "you know" is something very hard to control, specially when you are explaining, recording, watching the script and touching controls hahaha
@@XNBeatsMusic yes I konw, no problem. I like your video guides. Now I understand how to use "atteunators" on the Neutron (which is not well explained on other channels).
Thanks, I will be posting more about the Model D in a while. Not guides, just creating matches and making music. Always from a teaching perspective, I don't like to upload videos of me just turning knobs with no clear explanation of what is going on. This channel is about you getting something out of each video, always, no exceptions.
Thanks...I am beat, guess what, I've just finished recording the deepmind guide. It's.....long and I skipped the sequencer and some other things because if too damn long, the synth is a beast. So, i will record part 2 let's say with the most non-essential things just to use it, FX, WIFI, SW, SEQ,PATTERNS. It is going to be a lot of work, but for sure it will be the best guide on the WWW. Thanks for the support.
I would love to, but the prophet 6 is widely unavailable in my country. Sequential has no interest here, so no one imports the brand. And if someone did ,it would be as expensive as buying a good brand new car. So, don't think that's going to happen. Unless sequential asks me to do a video, which I don't think that is going to happen either.
