Thanks - I have some stuff to upload, but still need to finish the edits on them (Sony RX1 vs Fuji X100 and one for the Sigma DP2) - need to get those sorted. I mostly use either the Sony RX100 (because it's just easier if I'm soloing) or the Panasonic FZ1000 for video - I usually list what's been used in the video description.

You should just be able to plug it straight into a USB port and it'll pick it up as a removable drive. The easiest way (and it'll transfer quicker) is to put the SD card in an external card reader.

Thanks - I was using high capacity rechargeables and they seemed to last as long as I needed them - maybe some smart fella has done a LiPo conversion somewhere.

Not really sure exactly what you mean - do you mean the screen is dead, or are you seeing the digital overlay and a black screen? If it's the latter, your camera may be suffering the black screen of death as talked about here: digitalwaterfalls.wordpress.com/2015/03/01/canon-s2is-the-black-screen-of-death/ It talks about a temporary fix you could try - if the screen is just dead, then it's probably beyond economic repair at this point sadly :( Let folks know if you're able to get it working trying what's in that link. S2 does not accept SDHC cards or SDXC so you may need to go used on eBay. 2GB is generally the maximum you're like to find that are the normal SD cards (there are some 4GB non-SDHC, but most will be).

Yup

2GB - the cams are limited to standard SD cards, so do not support the higher capacity SDHX or SDHC formats. It's still plenty for this cam tho.
