I purchased an RCBS pistol bullet feeder 2 years ago before this was available from Lee Precision. I installed it on my Lee Classic Turret Press. I have a turret that I use for processing raw brass and one for loading cases. I decap, bulge bust, size and prime with one turret. I removed the sizing die from my loading turret and installed the RCBS bullet feeder. All my brass is already sized and primed so my process is just like you demonstrated. When this RCBS die wears out and it will eventually do that. I will purchase the Lee inline bullet feeder. The RCBS bullet feeder die uses an insert of plastic fingers to keep the bullets in place. Once the fingers are worn out the die is useless. Thanks for demonstrating the die:

Thanks for, that, Slide. I have an RCBS unit as well, but never could make myself like that one. I’m glad I’m not the only one who uses the press this way.🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸

I have been using the Mr. Bullet Feeder dies in 9mm and 357 for several years. The Lee die is an almost exact copy of how it works. Mine don't use a spring like the Lee dies. I also use a electric 3d printed bullet collator to feed the bullets to the die. For loading a mass quantity it really speeds things up. But just loading a few I just use a single tube adapter on the die to feed the bullets. Thanks for showing this as there is not much out there about these

Hi Tomme. I had given strong consideration to the Mr. bullet feeder too. I tried the Hornady and RCBS systems and lost interest in both of those. This one I like a lot, but I think a big piece of it is the new PTX expander from Lee. That combo is working very well for me. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸

Excelent video, as always Sir! Those bullet feeders have been great. Love the way they set the bullet....better than I can do by hand.

Thanks, TreeTop. It was your conversation that gave me the impetus to try them. Agreed, with the new PTX plugs, the bullets are getting started perfectly, whereas before I always had to fiddle with them! 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸

Well explained my friend. Personally I prefer to hand place the bullet even when running the 650

Thanks, Scotsman. Honestly, this system (including the new powder die measure insert) does as good or better job than I can do by hand. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸

Your the first person I know that actually has and used this... I have been very curious about them My 3D printed ones are working great for me.. maybe if they stop at least I know that there is a viable option. Just a suggestion.. get a couple extra of the ball bearings... just saying and don't ask me how I know, LOL Thanks

Well, Walter,, on a different thing, My star's lube sizers, they have auto feeding as an option. only thing was that I figured out, I have to load the tubes and that required time and handling, same time that it would take to hand feed each bullet into the machines. I wasn't saving any time with my sizing lubing operation, Matter of fact it took longer because I had to take the empty tubes off and replace them with tubes that were already filled onto the machine. It wasn't till I got with the program and installed electric automatic bullet feeders all that work went away. Now, all I do is Cast, let age, and then dump the bullets into a hopper and turn on the bullet feeder. Done deal! If someone has problems with their hands and fingers, loading the tubes is easier than placing a bullet on each case while in the press, But, It isn't a real time saver when you have to load the tubes. Peace out - Dave
@viejo2a
@viejo2a 3 месяца назад
Thanks, Dave. What I’m finding is that this combination is faster: for a couple of reasons: first, it dies take me time to reach over, grab a bullet, stick it in place and fiddle a bit to get it started the way I want it, and second, the seater/expander setup I’m using does a great job of starting the bullet straight. As I mentioned in the video, it does take time to fill the tubes, but its very quick, and since one has to pull the handle 4 times on this press, bullets can be dropped into the top of the tube while that is going on with no loss of time. Most of the time saved comes from not having to fiddle getting the bullet started right. But, not being a competitor like you, not all about saving time in my case. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸

Looks like it actually works. I use to have a Hornady one and sold it. Didn’t work with cast bullets and only half worked with fmj and plated bullets.

Walter, Any issues running the Die on your Redding T7?
@viejo2a
@viejo2a 3 месяца назад
Hi Willie. I haven’t tried it, but I don’t think I’d run any bullet feeder on the T7. The turret detent is stiff and I think it would be too jerky. I should put my money where my mouth is though and see what happens. In actual practice I rarely load more than 50 rounds at a time on the T7, and running a bullet feeder might be counter productive. 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸

Good stuff Walter! I have the RCBS feeder die for 9mm. I like it a lot.... I had a guy 3D printed some other feeder dies for 223, 300BO, 308, and 30-06 they all work great!! He makes great items. I always look at the Lee inline die and wondered if I want to try it
