You should do a camera comparison between the S3 and S21 like with what you did with the iPhone 4 & 12 pro max. That’d be really neat

This was my phone from 2013-2017, and what a legend it was, still the best phone I've ever owned!

At the time, I viewed the Galaxy as a boy's phone and the iPhone as a girl's phone. iPhone was better for smaller hands, had a luxury finish to match purses, and the OS was more streamlined & no nonsense. Galaxy was better for bigger hands, had removable parts (battery, SD card), and the OS was more customizable. The Galaxy was the phone for boy's to tinker with while the iPhone was the phone for girl's to accessorize with.

Lineage os 19(android 12) was ported to the S3, maybe check it out and give it a try if you have a supported model, would love to see what it can do on android 12.

Although I am now an Apple user, the Galaxy S3 was and is still one of my favorite phones ever made. It just brings back so much nostalgia because I used to have a Galaxy Tab 3 back in the day, and loved it to pieces, literally, because I ended up dropping it and shattering the screen, but regardless, I love this phone so much, so I really want to see that video with u using the phone for a day!!! ❤️📱

My mom had the Galaxy Note 2 back then and I was using the iPhone 5. The softwares shown in this video takes me back to 2012. I miss those days. 😇

Had to use it in the beginning of this year because my old phone broke. Battery was a lot better than most of the phones made 3-6 years after this phone.

I miss using this phone as my daily driver phone! It's awesome imo to this day!

fun fact, you can still use an s3 in 2022. you just need to update play store (or installing an apk of the latest version) and you can install most of your favorite apps, except youtu e because google said "screw it, let's not support this app on older android version" but can use third party software ,like youtube vanced, or the web version. in fact i was able to still use it for a week with the only problem being the storage

Funny thing is I have a s3 and play store still works for me idk why every app is updated

I would love the comparison with the 5 + the modern use comparison. Also would be great to compare it to s21 or s22 (when it arrives) if you can access those phones

I still have my marble white s3. That was my first samsung android phone and in 2022 I'm still with samsung

I still use S3 mini as my secondary phone! :) Only for phone calls and SMS. It has Facebook Lite installed on it but it's almost unusable.

This was my 2nd Android phone, after the S2. And since 1995 using over 100 Symbian mobile phone's. This S3 was a real 'wow' phone back then.

I still have my moms s3 and sometimes i find myself using it to feel like I'm back in 2013

If you leave it on for a while Play Store may update randomly to a newer version as I was using a Galaxy S3 in early to mid 2020 and it had a newer version of the Play Store which worked.

Wait a mintute… how does appstore still work for you though? I get an error on all of my ios 6 devices (cannot connect to itunes store)

Also, I will add; even if you update his phone to android 4.4.2, it still won't be supported as if you update the youtube app, it will just ask you to switch to the browser.

The S3 was my first phone in 2015. I was in 8th grade and it was my first introduction to social media other than facebook. I miss that phone so much. One day it just stopped working out of nowhere. I don't remember what was on that phone but I miss it!!! I still have the phone actually.

My parents both had these same phones in 2013. I miss using both of the phones :(

I'd have to argue that this is not only one of the most important phones in 2012, I'd argue it's one of the most important smartphones in general, since I'd argue that 2012 was the year the smartphone really took off. Now yes, things like the Blackberry and stuff were around before, but most people just had a regular cell phone until 2012 imho.

Do. More. Comparisons. Show other phones of the time. Compare old devices power/capabilities/specs to current day devices. Tell us a couple facts about those old devices we might not have known. What else was going on in 2012 ? Trigger our memories and nostalgia. Overall great video. But you could have done more to keep my eyeballs on the screen longer and you make yourself more money. I actually bought parts to fix and customize my Galaxy S3 a few days ago, I will make the back cover blue, and put on a new screen in the white color. Pretty cool phone!

I had this phone. Bought in 2012 and it lasts until 2016. I updated until android 5.0 with Cyanogen. Amazing phone!

The screen on this phone used to be HUGE and now In 2022 to escape huge phones I’m using an iPhone 13 mini which has a screen about the size of a Note 2. Things really change rofl.

To use the play store you need to update it

You can actually update the Google play store via an APK to a version from 2019, allowing for a pretty modern experience even on a phone with Android on JB.

Removeable batteries was definitely one of the things I preferred Samsung over Apple for, but I don’t even think they really do that anymore I use Apple now cause overall I like it better now but the Samsungs back in the day were really nice

I used it for 7 years since the day it came out. Until it could not charge anymore and the screen cracked. bought a barely used one for mom a couple of years ago for 15 eur, and she is still using it. If you update everything to the newest possible version (Android 4.3 Jellybean) Google play still works. I disabled and hid the bloatware, and things my mom does not use, like RU-vid. Samsung video player does not update anymore. You can replace it with vlc player, or something if you need it. It's a good phone for basic needs. And has a removable battery. I'm looking for a way to update it to a newer android version for mom, so that's why I'm browsing galaxy s3 vids.

i believe the s7 was the last samsung phones that did the carrier watermarking on them

I still have one of these in a drawer, it has Android 7 or 8 I don’t remember I need to turn it on, because I installed a custom on it, so it is still usable in 2022 with a good custom rom, that’s the advantage these old Android phones have over old iPhones if you are an advanced Android user you can extend the life of these devices a lot.

You could do a video about using custom roms on the s3 today.. That'll make a lot of stuff on it work, like play store and stuff. I'm genuinely curious as to how older devices still work today on newer firmware.

i had one of these in 2018 bought it used it played games pretty decently and i had some 64gbs it died when the charging port went out for the 2nd time and i just gave up on it

11/5/2022 I'm still using it guys.....it has many features that today's phones have not Also: You need to update the play store to make it work

You can install LineageOS with Android 7 on the Samsung S3 which is still pretty useable today. There are even some unofficial builds for up to Android 11.

you should just update the software and update all apps and you will be able to use a lot of apps.. because you didn't update the play store you will not be able to download any apps

I was in my cubical, somehow this phone add shows up on my pc screen. And i just lazily looked at it, knowing its impossible to own one with the price tag was soo high being the bst phone then. That month the ad of S4 was released. Somehow, by some pure luck, a friend had received a gift, he miraculously didnt want the gift from his bank. obviously filthy rich. And asked me to come and gave me that brand new SGS 4! Still unopened, bnib! I was jaw dropped for a whole five minutes... The phone had not even released in public yet. I mean, the purchase was limited to 2000 unit per week with line so long made the price bumped up to over 1000$... The first ever a phone break 1000$ in my country. And with my curent phone at that time was blackberry gemini 2G.. I went to my brothers house, where all the family member was gathered that day. And i told them i got a new stuff. Gave them the paper bag, expecting a reaction... And it was golden.. Regreting i didn't record the whole shoutings..😁😂. They literally screaming. All my sisters was screaming in high pitch!😂

I legit wish I had this phone back in the day but I could only afford one phone and went with the iPhone 4. I recently picked up a Sprint SIII new in box which at least gave me the unboxing experience! Sadly the phone can't be activated. :( A lot of people are nostalgic for things like Blockbuster, I'm nostalgic for old phones I never used in their prime lol!

I chose this over the iPhone 5 in 2012. My first android. It was an awesome phone at the time and I actually loved it. I then got the note 4 when my galaxy s3 gave out and battery life was not just unacceptable but didn’t exist. Lol! After using the note 4 for a few year2 or 3 I went back to iPhone with the 8 plus and been here ever since. 8 plus to the 11 pro max to Joe the 13 pro max. I like the 14 but my 13 is just so good still and I love this phone so why not wait for the 15 with the inevitable usb-c changeover and enjoy my 13 pro max for another year
