The snap on solus ultra I have been using for the bast 2 years lets me do everything the Tech 2 can do, except reprogramming. On most later model vehichles.
Just remember that ACDelco/GM requires Specific PC requirements as I was told I need to upgrade as I have a Win XP and it is not supported. It will work until you get error messages and then they will tell you to upgrade as they will not trouble shoot due to Microsoft no longer supports the operating system.
Do u need the pass through pro to jus get the tech 2 win or could u have another style cable? That wld be super nice to have for diagnostics on the gm even though it seems like the snap ons do have the best coverage on gm...
You need to purchase the programming acess as well. So 55 for tech2win and another 55 for the ability to have access to the programming module. Also keep in mind you cannot program any GM vehicle without the physical Candi module which is a tech 2 accessory. Candi modules can be bought used for 200-300 bucks on ebay.
I have a Toshiba laptop with Sindows XP SP3, but i cant install the pass thru pro II software, How can I install it? Software tells me that I havent something else! What did I need?
I bought a Tech2 about two years ago and I wouldn't part with it for anything. Tech2win would suck on a test drive as you mentioned. The tech2 is a great mobile programmer fyi.
