As of November 2019 this is still only 1600 euros, that's so much cheaper than Pultec eq's (stereo) and the SSL bus compressor, by thousands! And then there is the wooden box it's packed in. That's a proud company and I'd trade my left one for this, but I doubt they would want it. I went to check it out on the website and stayed there for about an hour, worth a look. They have a digital patch bay with MS decoding just by click and drag, well thought out gear at Tegeler!
i was surprised i was still even able to cop the black le version well into 2020. at the time, it was even less in price than the og version w/o RC is rite now.
Hey Streaky. Two things: 1. It bugs me how many so-called "demo" videos of mastering gear are absolute garbage in terms of capture, and you do it properly. As an ITB ME of about 12 years, who is just beginning to dip a toe into analog, demo videos done well are enormously valuable to me. It's not perfect, but it does direct me toward what I might want to demo in my room. PLEASE DO THIS WITH EVERYTHING. Pure Mu, Curve Bender, MEA-2, Massive Passive, Gyraf G23-S, Dave Hill Titans, Stam SA4000. I want to hear all the things! 😄 2. Tegeler scares me a bit. Their mastering gear seems to be about 1/3rd the cost of other manufacturers, which makes me think corners may have been cut. Can you comment? Cheers!
Thanks for posting another Creme video. I always reference my settings at home to the recommendations in your videos. It gives a couple of nice go-to starting points to fuss with! Very helpful for me. Thanks!
#ASKSTREAKY Hi Streaky after watching your videos on the tegeler creme several times. I've a big question on my mind, Do you use the compressor of the Creme as part of the mastering? I was thinking of moving towards an SSL Fusion but already having a Dangerous 2BUS + with saturation and coloring options and also a Manley NU-MU and soon a TK-Audio TKLIZER or a BAX EQ my choice is now more towards Tegeler Creme because on paper it offers me more possibilities compared to my current setup. Qualitatively speaking without taboo what do you thing bout the Tegeler Creme ?
I see the Schwerkraftmaschine in that rack too, they do sound very nice and with the motorized faders great for daw work and also the complex multi band must be great for mastering. For what they offer, the price seems very good to me considering what a Pultec stereo eq and an SSL comp would cost. To convert from Euros and add Canadian tax you would multiply the price by 1.6 and it's still relatively cheap. I watched your video where you talked about cables and noticed that the cables from Tegeler were very reasonable in cost, have you used them by any chance and if so, how are they? A 2 meter cable for $16 CAD for nearfeilds isn't bad if it's a good cable, and Germans tend to take pride in their craftsmanship.
Hi streaky, thanks for this review. I do a lot of EDM and Hip-hop music. I’ve the dangerous bax EQ and a Manley NuMu in my rack , but now I’m looking for a compressor. first I’m looking for the dangerous compressor but he sound cool he’s not blowing me away. Do you think the tegeler creme are a great alternative ? Sound Quality of this product are equal with dangerous manley or another professional audio brand ? Thank you
The tegeler is and entry level "Pro material" (if that mean anything). it's horrible compare to a real pultec and just a joke compare to a real ssl. it's only good considering the price. Wich should have been the conclusion of this video. For EDM i would buy a real SSL compressor or even beter, the TK-Audio BC1-THD wich is a SSL Compressor on Vitamin.
I wish on many units like this, boost would be in 0.1 of dBs, I frequently find 1 dB boost to be a bit of overkill... Even if this unit sounds so good...
noname I totally agree! Most if the time I wish that I had 0.5 or 1.5 to fuss with on the EQ. The EQ steps are a bit too big. Some half steps would have been perfect. Because of that, I almost always just stop at 1. :-/
Hey Streaky! It would be interesting to hear your take on the Gyraf g21. Its quirky but an awesome concept. And secondly what do you think of 2nd hand gear (monitoring specificly)? Like Pmc Mb2´s are hitting the market in recent times. Or are the Current developments, often cheaper, a better investment. Like the new JBL 7 Series. (wich at 2k are awesomely cheap, comperativly) so: G21 and JBL 7 the big ones. Big Up and all the Best ;)
James Last not heard any guest stuff but really want to...hopefully get something in to trial. Yeah defo second hand monitors are good, they will have plenty of burn time on them and replacement cones are cheaper then new speaker in that price bracket...MB2’s bass response is really tight
You tweeting the knobs very hard and careless.your way of operating is not good.please operate the machine and you r operating knobs as if you want spoil the compressor.👎👎👎
