Using VR to Plan maintenance of industrial robots in VR with 3DEXPERIENCE 

As part of the innovate UK funded e-Tau project which developed an automated laser welding solution for Aerospace and Automotive applications Prodtex were tasked to implement digital manufacturing solutions.
We used the 3DEXPERIENCE platforms digital manufacturing tools to sync the motions of a virtual manikin in the digital twin of the robot cell with a user in a HTC Vive VR headset with body trackers.
The user could then walk around the cell to simulate planned maintenance activity's to assess the risks, test the work instructions and ensure that the correct tools and equipment are available before they set a foot on site.
This helped us to plan more effectively to ensure we had a safe environment for the worker to complete their tasks efficiently with the right tools to hand reducing costs and increasing safety.
