I'm not sure how useful this is in the long run, but this actually sounds extremely useful in the early game. Most dinos with platform saddles are both mid game and extremely slow, so being able to put a small platform saddle on the back of any medium dino is going to make exploring the map so much easier when you don't have good fliers yet. This and the shovel are the two features I'm most excited for so far
Not to mention if you "cheat" and bring a therizino into scorched earth. That'd be the ideal mobile base imo as the theri doesn't agro much, is fairly fast, a good gatherer, and has a decent weight. A thyla could be interesting too if they can pull a cart.
4:18 I'm a huge Chalico fan and knowing that they can be included in a caravan makes me so happy. Mobile bases have been on my wishlist for so long... ...sadly, so is owning a PC that can run ASA 😭
@@slimjim5392Why would you ever limit yourself to a console when you can buy a PC instead? I mean... if you're into 30FPS and shitty graphics on a system you can't upgrade, sure, go ahead.
A word of warning to everyone. Do NOT place thin beams along the bottom of the cart. If you do then you won't be able to remove them and thus the cart will be permenately attached to your dino until it's death.
@BlueFireDrakka I honestly didn't think to try that. That's a good work around until they fix the hitbox with the cart. Among several other issues it has. Thanks for the reply.
thylo cart is amazing. Ive got a mortor and pestil a spark powder fridge a bed and a fireplace in mine. Perfect for exploration. I did another cart with my anky that one containing a fabricator and a mortor and pestil turning it into a mobile poly factory which can be moved by Argentavis.....looks goofy and can glitchy but god damn is it effective
I wasn't planning on buying this DLC, but a wagon is actually tempting. I find travelling by land is quite immersive in SE, and being able to put a wagon on my mount would make it even more so.
I definitely built my base too big and it's a bit stupid... Not the wagon,bl but my attempt at a mobile land base. Everywhere I go the entire wagon base bounces, glitches and goes NUTS! Doesn't damage anything. Lmao. I need to go smaller for sure. But I do enjoy the wood texture, I can change metal to look like nice wood and not to mention the doors can be textured too, at the same time it makes the doors open automatically so you don't have to. I've posted a pic of my crap wagon base on my channel. Embarrassing. Baha. I do like playing the game seriously, but have a bit of crazy in it too at times.
Its not a physics issue. The problem is the wagons are not real wagons. They are just extensions to the creature. So when you "drive your wagon" you are just driving the horse and the wagon is basically a static mesh added to the back of the horse. Its all fake. Quite a lazy implementation really. For a paid DLC, I expected better. Wildcard is being immensely lazy and its not excused by "reducing stress". Thats just not the reason. Its because they didnt want to invest in a proper vehicle system.
Oh I agree for sure, just extending behind the creature is definitely lazy. Any reduction in server calculations is helpful which is why I suggested stress, especially if there was a lot of them around, but I'd rather it was done properly with say a .ini option to use 'simple carts' to help, in a same way the harvesting clamps exist to help reduce lag on populated servers.
Good feedback, ty, I'll try keep it in mind if/when I look at trains/Oasisaur To answer them for you: - Auto Turrets: No - Ballista/Catapult/Rocket/Minigun Turrets: Yes - Cryofridge: No - Refridgerator: Yes - Generator: Yes - Teleporters: No
@@freynlives Interesting. We haven't swapped our server yet so still Island, but have the pack. We brought a horse with an auto turret and a heavy turret into the Brood fight. Surprised as heck the game allowed it. Currently have a tribemate seeing how many turrets she can pack on a single armored cart.
No matter what's on the cart it's like -600 heat resist automatically just being in a house built on the cart. So it's not useful to get out of the heat. Actually completely the opposite. Even with air conditioners
Wagons need improvement atleast with turning animation and physics. Would be nice to improve snap points on it too and having another way to reduce weight on the wagon since a lot of the creatures that can get a wagon dont have very high weight stats but so far its pretty good addition to Ark.
This thing is completely non-function on official servers. Can't step on it because I glitch into it. Can't access inventory of things placed on it. Can't even remove it from the creature that I placed it on. Great job Wildcard. What a joke.
As far as I'm aware, you can't remove the cart without taking the structures off first. Not 100% sure, but it's what I've been told and all other platforms work that way
So Bob's Tall Tales is a paid dlc? I can't believe I actually thought Wildcard would add cool new things to Scorched Earth. Of course it's paid dlc for a game we played to death for 8 years...
Keeping track of 2 vector3s isn' going to stress out any server. A wagon is not more expensive than a second dino. Keep making excuses for lazy cash grabs, and that's all you'll ever get.
If the wheels turned the servers would suffer. Let alone adding full physics. And you don't need full physics anyways arks not that kinda game. You are complaining about something a normal ark player would easily overlook
