A tip for anyone who wants to use wax resist on their ceramics is that once you are done using the wax, immediately wash off the paintbrush in hot water because if you don't, the wax will get stuck on the brush and it will be very hard to clean off
Just curious (and I apologize if you’ve already answered this question-I’m new here) but why don’t you glaze it white first and then pain the design on? Your pots are so cute!! ❤
The spots are actually coming from the clay! It looks like the same clay I use. It's so cool, the spots become visible only during the second, hotter firing, and come right through many glazes, creating a freckled look.
So she's dunking it in glaze, which runs when fired. The daisies are painted in underglaze. If she painted the daisies on top, they wouldn't remain sharp or crisp due to the glaze underneath it running, the edges would feather out! I do a lot of pottery and I'm still struggling with glazing because of this lol
