I think windows went downhill after xp , we had the disaster of vista then they "win7 apology edition" then the "win8 we are going to force full screen start menus on people etc" its like they are trying to desperately fight to stay relevant by jamming so many features into it that no one will even use. I just want to use windows and not trip over all the wires and useless features they add.
@@steelsofliquidI fully agree with you. Windows xp was best 32 bit system. After 7 came out, its still the best 64 bit system which has lesser bloat than 8 and 10. Also both of them consume very less resources to run on low end system. If you have really old PC then xp is best choice.
Great video. Play some old games such as halo ce, cod 1 , 2, gta vc, crysis 1, Halo etc.. Long ago I used pentium D 3ghz + geforce 9500gt. Multiboot with xp, vista, 7 and couple of Linux distros. Used 4 hard disks 😅
Thanks! I'll see what games this PC can run (it has an ATI card of some sort and what's essentially the AMD equivalent to the Intel Core 2 Duo E8400), and I may consider a project to have a very powerful XP system.
It's possible to use the Legacy Update tool on old IE copies iirc. Michael MJD did a video on it a bit back, since it's a tool used to update old versions of Windows (even as recent as Windows 7) and it's quite useful
You can directly update it by slipstreaming unofficial SP4 and post SP4 POS 2009 update pack. It has documentation of every hotfix and patches they have assembled in those packages. Use clean source of xp from authentic source to start with and follow the guidelines. Add all the motherboard drivers so that you can save time while they install automatically along with the OS. Get Office 2003 with SP3, Winrar, Adobe reader, my pal browser, AVG or Avast antivirus etc to make the system upto date.
my first windows was 3.11 back in 1994 than windows nt4 from 1997-2002 than windows 2000 from 2002-2009 and since the end of 2009 til today i use daily windows xp
I've got videos about using Windows 2000, Vista, 7 and 8.1 planned for the coming weeks (as I did such videos of them in 2023 and they were really successful, notably the Vista one that got almost 11K views), though I'm using a different computer as Vista runs poorly on this system (especially with Aero and lots of programs) despite this PC shipping with a Vista Business product key from the factory. TL;DR - I've got a "Using Windows Vista in 2024" planned, but I'm using a different computer (physical hardware, not a VM) for the video due to this PC's performance
Yeah, the reason I have so many icons is because for whatever reason my brain has an obsession with having lots of icons and programs, and I often can't think of how to organize them all. I also have placed all of my program icons in a dedicated launch folder on some of my units.
