You still didn’t show us how to actually use the rub block, how much pressure do you use? Do you go left to right or back and forth? For how long? Do you mark the tips with a marker pen so the pen wears away as you rub? Do you use a magnet on the back of the blade like you do when sharpening?

Good question.

So do you literally rub the cutter blade on the rub block? If there is a video on how it's used, that would be great. I purchased the little red (model CS-10) and was wondering how it's used.

Just as in the video, we are rubbing the blade directly on the rub block. The rub blocks job is to help us simulate the seating process that happens when we put the comb and cutters together. By rubbing on the block, it allows us to see how that component is going to work with the other without having to put it all together. Thanks!

Since you guys sell blades is there any chance you could post up fresh blade rub patterns for each type of blade so we can have a reference to what we are trying to duplicate when we sharpen? Thanks.

What does it mean if I am getting a pattern where it is shiny in the middle (in an arch) but only like the middle teeth leaving the end 2 teeth darker?

Do you wash the blade prior to testing with the rub block?
@TheEdgePro
@TheEdgePro 5 лет назад
Salvador Lozano we don’t, we will rub it on the block directly after sharpening to spot check our blades. We will wash the blades before assembling.

Thanks for your wonderful videos. What's the name of block you use after sharpening the blade? I mean what kinda material is that?
@TheEdgePro
@TheEdgePro 2 года назад
It is steel.

It's a good one, thank you very much. But can any metal be used as rub block when purchasing one is not available in your country please ?
@TheEdgePro
@TheEdgePro 2 года назад
You would want to use steel. It can be cast or forged. Technically it is lap non hardened tool steel that we use. It has to be truly flat to work.
