USMC & Blackwatch vs Infected - PROTOTYPE 2 NPC Wars 

Hey everyone 👋 In Prototype 2 there is no console commands/mods or camera tools to disable the hud and freecam but I still wanted to make a video so I cropped the screen and recorded some NPC battles. These are mostly the NPC Battles you can see while free roaming in the game, also there are some moments where I spawned NPCs as well, here I spawned 5 brawlers 9:04 using the debug menu. Always loved to disguise myself as a marine and find a rifle and join the ground units and fight with them holding back the infected.

The fact that we never got a prototype 3 is one of the biggest tragedies in gaming

An interesting thing about the AI in these two games is how it reflects the two military factions' stance on collateral damage. The marines will take care to not injure civilians and react poorly to you doing so, while blackwatch mows them down and is fine with you doing so as well, so long as you're disguised. It also important to remember Blackwatch doesn't care about friendly fire when it concerns the marines, and vice versa unless it's incredibly blatant. There's a lot of little details like that in how they coordinate themselves that lend credence to the story instead of just having it be said that they don't like each other.

2:46 those infected just ripped a dead body in half and there is physics of them dragging the bodies and they eat them???? this game is full of little incredible details ive never seen in any zombie game, this game was given love from its devs, good work.

Soldier! It has come to my attention that while on patrol duty in the Red Zone, you did not engage any of the Infected. In fact, if testimonies from your squad are to be believed, you went completely unarmed on the battlefield and instead of fighting, you were, and I quote said testimonies, "vibing!"

i loved how in prototype 2 they added the “whitelight” gas that would infect people and turn them into the zombies. kinda sadistic but i loved disguising as a soldier, puncturing the container so it leaked the gas and then running around with it in green and yellow zones and like create an artificial outbreak and watch the marines and black watch contain the outbreak, the ai was so cool in both these games.

I remember I would glide around in the Red Zone when I was bored and save either civilians or Marines by grabbing them and dropping them off either on a rooftop or a military base. And other times I would grab a gun and disguise myself as a soldier and help out everyone else. No powers. God, I love this game. Hope Prototype 3 happens one day.

I used a lot to fake roleplay in the red zone as a Heli pilot

Oh man, the memories flooding back. This game was so much fun

Fact: If you grab a soldier he will hold his weapon, and letting him go make him immediately engage you again. But you can make him ditch his weapon by going near Whitelight gas. The game determines that he should turn zombie after inhaling whitelight so he drops his weapon but since he is in your hands, he can't turn. After this go to a place far away and release him, and he will tremble in fear like a normal civilian but still attempt to call reinforcement through radio chatter. Not sure if it's a bug but it was hilarious

Just notice that this game is Activision's most brutal game.

Nothing was more fun than riding in the Abrams tank and fight with the soldiers. If only Prototype 3 could be a thing

I love how after the USMC truck was thrown over they immediately tried to form a perimeter but were overwhelmed to quickly, whether that's part of their code to do that...still quite amazing...

God those were the days, i remember dragging random soldiers into the zombie swarm and leaving them there and watch as they make their last stand

I started playing this again recently! It’s an EXTREMELY underrated game

Activision really achieved a aesthetic, random events, AI idle behaviour, small to Large details felt good. Ask me what I mean, but the game look great, sucks that it has ended

After looking at this gameplay. Replacing the soldiers with online players but keeping an open world zombie game (GTA grade Open world) with a limitless waves of zombie coming at you, and your team just trying too survive kinda looks like an awesome game

I really liked prototype 2 npcs i always absorbed a blackwatch commander and always act like i was commanding the marines or blackwatch soldiers.

Would anyone else just grab a random blackwatch, consume him, then join a random blackwatch patrol? The mission where you did something similar was my favorite, I was actually starting to love the squad I was with.

man this just made me realize how cool would it be to have a spin off game where you play as one of the soldiers trying to clean up the redzone

Prototype 2 AI was so good. I love scale of the fights which can go from alleyway massacres to full blown battles to keep control of the streets.

Oh I remember consumed 1 of the black watch and just follow the unit in red zone fighting any incoming zombies. Also P2 is the first game I ever got 100% achievements and I really hope that one day we will get Prototype 3

Prototype 2 was awesome. My favourite way of playing was trying not to use powers, and to just punch and kick for the extra challenge

The fact is James Heller can't swim

I loved doing this while playing the game. Sometimes I go and break Whitelight barrels then move them to a populated area, then change to a soldier, pick up a gun, and pretend to be a normal soldier fighting Infected along with other Soldier NPCs.

They should have made a dlc about sandbox-ish marine/blackwatch soldier going out doing duty and than coming back. Maybe with here and there little boss fights.

One of the best games I've ever played. There's a ton much attention to detail, the city feels alive and vibrant. It's a shame no one talks about this game that much anymore. 😕

I never knew the infected ate their victims and tore their bodies apart. Secondly, I didn't expect the infected to cannibalize their own kind. But if Mercer and his chosen do it, I suppose they all would. The virus likes to recycle I guess.

I remember using a soldiers form to help em out against the zombies. It’s fun to watch.

There's such a sense of detail in this game when you do just that: observe the inhabitants/zombies/soldiers and see what happens. God I love Prototype 2. The sound of distant explosions too !!

You know, the USMC and Blackwatch are among the bravest, yet clumsiest, soldiers in the world, they would rather face an enemy straight and coming towards them rather than calling a retreat

Hell, the first game has these pretty much built in. War missions are just nonstop chaos in the immediate area.

If prototype 3 was made i would like to play as a custom character that is a nobody all you'd know from blackwatch is supposedly the custom character did illegal stuff and the character starts acting like a villain cause they treat the custom character like one but slowly starts to do hero stuff but is not a true hero just a anti hero like deadpool i would like that if that happened

This is satisfying, I've been playing prototype 1 and enjoy using the NPC. This is more enjoyment rather than GTA.

The fact that they are killing that many infected a day and the city is still not clear just doesn't make no sense but LOL this game is still really fun

My favourite thing used to be dropping a couple of infected at field ops and letting them wipe 'em out for me. It always took a while and depending on how blackwatch was feeling it might not even work, but it was fun

Watching the military fight the infected was my favorite thing to do in Prototype, especially the infinitely respawning hunters vs blackwatch supersoldiers. It sucks that special enemies don't spawn normally in Prototype 2, or that the combat and general movement in that game are so dumbed down compared to the first, because the maps were really cool to explore. I would sometimes just grab a rifle and follow a company of marines into the red zone and see how long they would last fighting the hordes of infected, or try to grab the civilians running around the zombie filled streets and placing them safely on the rooftops. Plenty of opportunities for emergent gameplay there.

This game is so well done at its time. Shame we never gonna get Prototype 3
