I was toatally there for this exercise. Im not active duty anymore but i remember being on one of those 53's for this OP. We had permission through the city of Yuma to do this and a lot of civilians came to watch us do our thing.
This video show mostly CH-53Ds and a couple of CH-53Es, the smaller CH-53D helicopters only have 2 engines, you can tell the deference by the none-presence of the rear gull-wing stabilizer, but the CH-53Es which are larger and have 3 engines as well have the rear gull-wing stabilizer plus the noise they make is most noticeable…hurricane makers! Nicknamed the "Shitter"
Actually they're all amix of D & E models. The D model has 2 turbines, no refueling boom and 5 blades, while the E model has 3 turbines refueling boom and 7 blades.
The first helicopter not the super stallion. That is the jolly green giant helicopter that has been painted a blue/grey for desert. The second part of this video shows the arriving super stallion helicopters.
DAS ist der RICHTIGE Hubschrauber für die Heeresflieger der Deutschen Bundeswehr!!! THIS is the right helicopter for the Army Pilots of the German Bundeswehr/Army!!!
What's inside of and what purpose do they serve, those two tear drop shaped things that are attached to the fuselage, inboard of the external fuel tanks? I see the rear landing gear retract inside, but what else is inside there?
It's no big deal or exercise, but only training which flying in and out of the US Marine Corps Air Station Yuma or (MCAS Yuma) KNYL/NYL happened all the time, its right next to the Yuma proving grounds which live fire takes place all the time. It's the Army and Marine Corps' playground! ☩ Ordo ex chao ☩:o)
Is it possible for you to provide me a video file with this video on it compatible with iMovie on an iPad? Where do the files normally get downloaded to? Thanks for any help you can provide me. I am trying to learn how to use iMovie on an iPad to edit clips and thought this would be a good one. Thank you
