a good coach can do wonders with a bunch of mediocre players.. all the US needs is one lucky win vs a good team to get to the quater finals and it will be a successul world up.

That's funny, Herc, because I think you're right. This is a US Soccer smoke screen, so the federation has cover to hire Dolo, the serial winner. Also, who's available right now who's got international experience, who's a big name, and is a legacy hire? Matarazzo is far and away better than Viera

He's using the USA offer in order to renegotiate his club coaching contract. Besides, he's just a guy with a "fancy" sounding soccer name - but really isn't the real deal. I don't want him. We deserve better. And if we miss on all coaches from now until Sept., then so be it. Anything is but Gregg "the gym coach" BLAH-halter.
