Great job and thanks for posting this! Just ordered my 1/350 Arizona the other day. I have a huge respect for people who can do this kind of PE work and manage to film it at the same time!
Es-pec-ta- cular..! I Heard that this one was a dificult buil tmodel. You Make it much much easier for beginners. A Lot of Job...But beautifull work... Beautifull...! Tks for sharing..
Beautiful piece of workmanship right there, great work. Have not long received the Eduard kit in 1/350 which I believe is based on the Hobby Boss base, with all the PE Brass and Resin parts thrown in, and I'm looking forward to getting a start on it very soon...and hoping it ends up half as good as the result you've acheived so far...looking forward to seeing part 2 of your series. Cheers from Sydney Aus!!!!
It’s hard to remember exactly how the instructions were that long ago. I don’t remember them being difficult or bad. The main challenge I had when it came to instructions was following the various PE instructions along side the kit instructions and not missing anything.
The white tubes you used for the fighting tops and the superstructure, did you have to buy those separately and if so what size are they? I have this kit now I am getting all the detail upgrade parts
Yes I did have to get them separate. I don’t recall exactly what size diameter they are, but I remember the ones that made up the aft tripod were slightly smaller then the ones on the forward superstructure. It you are getting the Eduard detail set like I did then the instructions tell you what size rods to use. Im away from home at the moment, but if you still don’t have an answer by Thursday when I get back I will look to see what I used.
I just had a look at the white rods I used, and there are three sizes. The primary supports on the forward superstructure was with 2.5mm polystyrene rod with 3.2mm making up the supports on each side just under the range finders. The Aft tripod is slightly narrower with 2.4mm rod. I hope this helps.
Big Ed limited set is en route, thank you for the tip. I THINK the kit I got might be coming with some 3D printed parts - at least that’s what was in the pics.
