Brings back memories when we returned from Korea back in 1951 on the USS Bon Homme Richard CVA-31, and 1953 on the USS Princeton CVA-37 from the Korean waters. I'm 93 years now, and was only 20 years old when we came around Point Loma and docked at North Island.

Brother, I am a Vietnam veteran sailor and an airdale aviation ordnanceman. I did a cruise on the USS Coral Sea, and I am 78 years old now, but if I could go back into uniform, I would. Man, I love the Navy!

@@patricklorio7657 I was aviation air crew (Radioman ) on AD-4W Skyraider back seat. 84 missions on two deployments to Korea on The Bon Homme, and 46 missions on one deployment on the Princeton in 1953. If they keep making the carriers larger and longer, they won't be able to make the turn there in the San Diego bay.

Was on the Dixon AS-37 for 4 yrs at Point Loma. Saw em all come and go but the best were the Battleships!

@@patricklorio7657 I too was an AO. I served for 20 years. I made seven deployments on FIVE carriers, John F. Kennedy(CVA 67), Midway, Hancock, America and Nimitz. Oh so long ago....

@@patricklorio7657 I'm with ya on loving the Navy! I should have made a career out of it. Spent 6 years at the 32nd st. Naval Base and did 2 west packs on the USS George Phillip FFG-12

I was on GW for pre-commissioning sea trials in 1992 and was on her when she transferred to Yoko in 2008.

They were switching out Airgroup Seven from the USS Bush with Airgroup Five from the USS Reagan so maybe they’re integrating the ship with the Airgroup

Reminds me of being on the Boxer whenever we'd come back into port!! I'd be getting ready to get off and go do something like laundry getting a beer and something to eat! Go see a girlfriend!! Fun times!!❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
